Top long-distance triathlons in France in 2027
The French calendar stands out for its abundance of alternatives to the major franchises. The Frenchman XXL will take place on May 8th as part of the Médoc Atlantique Frenchman, while June will feature several of the most important long-distance races.
OPENLAKES Champagne will be a full-format event, and CHTRIMAN 226 will take place on June 27 in Gravelines. IRONMAN Les Sables d'Olonne – Vendée is also scheduled for that same day.
July brings together two of the most renowned mountain races on the French calendar. ALTRIMAN will hold its 2027 edition on July 10th and 11th, and the Triathlon de l'Alpe d'Huez L will take place on July 28th with a 118-kilometer cycling leg.
The Embrunman maintains its traditional date of August 15th and Gérardmer will open September with its XL event.
IRONMAN France 2027
For now, we are adding to the table the events whose 2027 date has sufficient support: IRONMAN 70.3 Tours Métropole – Loire Valley on June 6 and IRONMAN Les Sables d'Olonne – Vendée on June 27.
Tours will return to the middle distance in 2027 and will be part of the 2027 IRONMAN Pro Series.
The 2027 IRONMAN calendar also includes IRONMAN 70.3 Aix-en-Provence on May 23, IRONMAN Vichy and IRONMAN 70.3 Vichy on August 22, and IRONMAN France Nice on September 12. These dates will be added to the schedule in the next update to the French inventory.
French Riviera will remain in the T100 in 2027
French Riviera is confirmed as one of the venues for the 2027 T100 World Championship Tour and will be held on May 15 and 16.
The organization also confirms a 100-kilometer race for age groups . The T100 World Championship Tour 2027 calendar can be found in Triathlon News.
The World Series will be renamed T50 in 2027
The 2027 season brings a major change to international triathlon. The current World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) will be renamed the T50 World Championship Tour within the new Triathlon World Tour.
The updated T50 calendar for 2027 does include a race in France: Quiberon , scheduled for June 19 and 20 as part of the T50 World Championship Tour.
World Triathlon and the PTO have already presented the first T100 Challenger calendar . France will also host Vieux-Boucau on October 9th and 10th, meaning the country's presence in the new Triathlon World Tour will be greater than initially suggested by the first preview published this summer.
Challenge Family, Super Tri and XTERRA, pending completion in 2027
The Vieux-Boucau Triathlon is already included in the T100 Challenger 2027 calendar and will take place on October 9th and 10th.
The new Triathlon World Tour integrates several events from the Challenge ecosystem into the T100 Challenger level from 2027.
In the Supertri category , Toulouse is still listed with the October 4, 2026 edition, while the organization has already begun publishing other races on its 2027 calendar. As of now, there is no confirmed 2027 date for Toulouse.
XTERRA France currently shows July 3rd and 4th, 2027 on Xonrupt, but the organization itself warns that the information is not yet confirmed and may be based on previous editions. For this reason, it is not yet included in the main schedule.
More tests we're following for the 2027 calendar
The selection will continue to grow over the coming months. Among the races yet to be added once their final dates are announced are Natureman, VentouxMan, BAYMAN, Triathlon d'Évian, Challenge Vieux Boucau, Supertri Toulouse, and XTERRA France , in addition to other French IRONMAN events.
We will also continue to review the Fédération Française de Triathlon (FFTRI) calendar to incorporate relevant middle and long distance events as they are registered and confirmed.
