Challenge Salou 2027 opens registration with new T100 Distance
Challenge Salou – Costa Daurada 2027 will open registration this Wednesday, June 3rd, for its 12th edition, which will be held on May 9th, 2027 with the new T100 Distance.
The Catalan test will activate a first window of 48 hours at a promotional price, an option for those who want to secure a place in advance in one of the most established international events on the triathlon calendar in Spain.
Challenge Salou – Costa Daurada It will once again be held in the province of Tarragona, with a format geared towards both experienced triathletes and athletes looking to take the leap to longer distances. In 2026, the event brought together more than 1.200 participants from 50 nationalities.
The T100 Distance replaces the Middle Distance
The main novelty of Challenge Salou 2027 will be the incorporation of the T100 Distance, which will take over from the previous Middle Distance within the sports program.
La T100 Distance It is a 100-kilometer triathlon format consisting of 2 km of swimming, 80 km of cycling and 18 km of running raceIn Salou, this change will allow the essence of the usual routes to be maintained, but with a distance more in line with the new standard that is gaining ground in international triathlon.

Individual and relay options
The new distance can be contested in either format as for relaysThis second option will allow the three segments to be divided among several members of the team.

The Short Distance remains on the program
Alongside the T100 Distance, the organization will maintain the Short Distance, a modality with 1 km of swimming, 54 km of cycling and 9 km of running race.
This distance will continue to be an attractive option for triathletes seeking a challenging but more manageable challenge than the main distance. It also suits those looking to progress from shorter races to longer formats.
