4 steps to plan your season

We tell you the 4 first steps that you should follow to carry out an analysis process, evaluate yourself, draw a new plan and in turn, find the necessary motivation for the season

Surely, today, you have felt identified with some of these profiles:

You have decided to compete this 2016 in triathlon. However, you do not know what your goals are or what competitions to carry out this season yet.

You are no longer debutante. You are assailed by doubts about how far is yours, when to start competing or even how many competitions will be right for you.

Do not fool yourself. 2015 was not the year you expected. It's time to take action without excuses and give the 110% of yourself to get good results this season.

Now the question is: where do I start?

"INTROSPECTION IS THE KEY TO BE AWARE AND ADVANCE TO THE FUTURE"

These are the 4 first steps you should follow to carry out an analysis process, evaluate yourself, draw a new plan and, in turn, find the necessary motivation.

1-. Do an analysis of the previous season and / or review your sporting past.

How did you train, for how long, what did you like most about training?

What career do you remember with regret this season for how well it came out? Why did this happen?

Have you suffered injuries, excessive training or recurrent colds? In what period has it occurred?

How many competitions have you done? At what times of the season?

2-. Do your own analysis as an athlete.

What is your strongest and weakest sport? What do you like most to train? How many sessions have you dedicated each week to each sport?

What has been my performance in competitions? Have I suffered any fights in a race that was aimed at?

Do you consider yourself to be better than average, in average or worse than average with respect to the time you dedicate to training in each sport? Is this reflected in the competitions?

What qualities do you have as an athlete? Are you diesel or are explosive jobs going? Have you tried both distances?

3-. Analyze your "psychological abilities".

Do you like and suffer? Do you do it in every workout you have to do it, every day you train, when you go alone, when do you go out in a group, in competitions? Is not it possible for you to suffer?

Do you prefer easy and average aerobic rhythms, long-term training or challenging, work with intensity and excel at any distance?

Short distance or long distance, are you prepared for it?

Are you ready for many hours alone or do you prefer the groups?

4-. Finally, you may be experimented but you want to take a step further, look at the following possibilities and think if you could incorporate any of them:

Recovery, nutrition, previous training preparation, technical analysis, biomechanical studies, strength work, periodic visits to physiotherapists / osteopaths, medical stress tests ...

As you have been able to realize we have tried to help you to make a reflection of last season, a visualization of your tastes and sports preferences and even an analysis of your strengths or weaknesses.
