How to trace the curves on the road with the bicycle?

The objective that you must pursue at the moment of drawing a curve is to have the best possible traction with the asphalt

Soft curve, medium curve and strong curve. Do you know when to tilt the bicycle and / or the body? Here is the explanation of how to plot each type of curve in the best way.

If you take a few kilometers of flight with the bicycle, you surely traces the curves in a natural way, without having to think what is the best position to follow the line.

In case you are starting in the world of cycling, I am sure that you have great respect to the downhill curves and with a certain speed.

We can differentiate between three different types of curves according to its curvature: soft, medium, strong.

For soft curves, do not tilt the bicycle, because if you maintain the degree of traction of the wheels with the asphalt, you only need to modify your center of gravity to change your route.

For half curves, you must tilt the bicycle because you have a higher degree of curvature, but to compensate for the traction you lose when you tilt the bicycle, you will keep your body on the vertical.

For strong curves, you must favor that your line is curvilinear, this you achieve by tilting both the bicycle and your body. In order to maintain good traction with the asphalt, what you have to do is increase the force you exert with the outer leg towards the ground.

Here you have the graphic summary of the different types of traced.
