We collect from the hand of the own brand, the most common doubts that athletes have when they use electrostimulation in their workouts

We have spoken directly with Antonio Moreno of  COMPEX and we have asked the 5 most common questions that athletes usually do in the various clinics to do for the Spanish geography as well as in the competitions where they are providing recovery service.

Do you know what the MI sensor and its functions are?

MI is the acronym of Muscle Intelligence. On the Fit3.0, SP2.0 and SP4.0 devices comes an extra cable that is the Mi Sensor. In wireless devices each channel is a Mi-Sensor and can perform different functions.

The MI functions are:

  • My Scan: To adapt a current parameter to the state and the physiology of the muscle, getting customize the electrostimulation session making it more comfortable and more effective.
  • My Range: We indicates an adequate range of work for the programs of recuperación, massage, increased blood flow, etc; not for training
  • My Autorange: It tells us what the optimal intensity to achieve the objectives of recovery programs, massage, increased blood flow, etc; not for training.
  • My TENS: It's a function only for the TENS program. In case we use excessive intensity and stimulate the muscle fibers, something unwanted in this program, the device reduces the intensity until this contraction disappears, avoiding counterproductive effects.
  • My Action: This function is for the training programsor, when this is activated, the contraction of the electrostimulator only triggers when we provoke a voluntary contraction. In this way we can perform combined work (CCMT®).

What 3 things are important a proper post-race recovery or training?

The priority when we finish a training or a competition is the hydration, eating and supplementation. From there we can already use the electorestimulation. If we do it in this way we will get much more out of the session.

Once properly fed and hydrated, it is essential to choose the program properly. We have two options, Recovery Training for the days of habitual fatigue, or Post-Competition Recovery for days of extreme fatigue.

Once the program is chosen, it is very important to place the electrodes correctly, following what the diagram indicates in the wired devices or in the device's own screen in the Wireless models.

Placing the electrodes, it is fundamental look for that position in which the musculature is totally relaxed. Otherwise we can produce a contraction that instead of recovering causes us more fatigue.

Done all the previous steps, we will only have put the correct intensity, using the My Range or My Autorange functions, and enjoy the session.

What is the motor point and in what programs is it important?

The motor point or motor nerve is the point of the muscle where I can activate, with the same intensity, as many muscle fibers as possible. Placing the electrode at this point I get a greater efficiency in training programs and muscle work.

To find the motor point we need the Motor Point Pencil. The most suitable program to locate it is Muscle Pain (Endorphinic in the old range), which we will find in the anti-pain category, although anyone that produces muscle jerks, no contractions, can serve us.

In which programs is the search for the motor point important?

Basically in the muscle work programs, that is, in the training or Fitness, it is in these where we look get the largest recruitment of mucinous fibers possible for get the greatest benefits, and this can only be achieved by placing the electrodes correctly, at the motor point.

What differences do you find between the Wire range and the Wireless Wireless range?

The main difference, besides the obvious one of have or not cables, what it will offer us greater comfort in relaxation programs, and a total freedom of movement to perform any type of exercise combined with the Compex when we are training with it, the most important difference is the fact that the wireless devices have an MI Sensor in each channel, while the cable only it has one and can not be put anymore because the device does not recognize them.

If we look at the first answer we will see how important this is, because we can get to work 4 different muscle groups at the same time having the absolute certainty that everyone will be working optimally.
