Runmatic, The App that measures the mechanics of running

Runmatic is the first scientifically validated app to measure your career mechanics

This APP was designed by sports scientists and coaches of elite runners, and seeing the need to measure the efficiency of the race on foot, developed the first app scientifically designed to analyze the career technique and thus help improve performance and prevent injuries in the athlete.

Runmatic uses slow motion recording of the latest iOS devices (iPhone5s / 6 / 6s, iPad mini 4 and iPad Air 2) to accurately analyze the steps while the athlete is running. Using scientifically validated equations, Runmatic calculates the contact and flight times, force, efficiency, frequency and even the asymmetry of the legs in a simple and precise way.

How It Works

You only need to record 9 race steps with Runmatic and select the contacts and takeoffs of each step. Runmatic will provide valuable information on career biomechanics and will even warn if something seems to go wrong.

The science behind Runmatic

Runmatic has been scientifically designed using a carpet with infrared platform, capable of measuring the contact times in the ground and the stride phase of flight with high precision.

Runmatic Screenshots

We measured more than 100 steps running at slow, medium and fast speeds simultaneously with Runmatic and the instrumented carpet, and the results were spectacular. Runmatic is highly valid and reliable for measuring career mechanics with scientific precision. Also now you can measure leg asymmetry, contact times, vertical oscillation and much more simply by using an iPhone or iPad!

Runmatic uses the equations published by Morin et al. (2005) for your calculations.
