Mario Mola, Fernando Alarza and Vicente Hernández talk about the Rio race.

Mario Mola "We must not allow the race to break in any moment, we should not lose the peloton in cycling. Then, in the last 10k, it will be for anyone looking for it. "

Hours before the test of triathlon across Olympics In Rio de Janeiro we rescued the impressions of our triathletes who will participate in the men's event they have done to the ITU.

"These last few weeks were very good, I finished training at altitude and did something at sea level to be ready for Rio. Now is the time to see if it works. I'm going to give everything I have and fight for the medals. "

Statements by Mario Mola and Fernando Alarza for BH

The absence of Javier Gómez Noya

"Javi could not come and it's a big pain, but we continue working in the same way. Javi is so good, he is brilliant, he makes us think that what he does is easy, in fact we believe it, so we put it into practice. We will try to give and do the best and good, then the race will decide. "

The rivals

"It's the Games, we all want to win a medal. We will be 55 at the start and we all want to get on the podium.

It's a one day race and there have already been surprises in other Olympic races. We all know who the favorites are, but there may be surprises. The best elite triathletes will be under observation during the race and that can end with others giving the bump. "

The strategy for the race

"The bicycle part is hard in itself, and this will be like a survival race rather than a strategy. I do not think we'll see a running race that's too fast. We will all be on the same circuit, with the same ramps, waves and weather conditions.

With Javi we always say that there is no place for team strategies in races with these characteristics, we can not deny that everyone will do their best, to maximize their potential. And I believe in this absolutely, any of the three can get on the podium.

We must not allow the race to break in any moment, we should not lose the peloton in cycling. Then, in the last 10k, it will be for anyone looking for it. "

Preparation for the Games

"The training has gone well, effective. We work very hard to arrive with the best condition. I am currently second in the SMT ranking, it is very rewarding, but this is a one day race and we have to perform well and act smartly. I hope to do well."

The rivals

If we can control the Brownlee so they do not dominate the race from the start. They are going to try to get out of the water at the head to put more pressure on the bicycle part. Both want to win, the race will be tough. We have our own strategy so that they do not feel so comfortable when pedaling.

The strategy

The swimming stage is going to be very, very hard. It is open sea, the waves make it difficult to manage the race. The bicycle part has a climb at the entrance of each lap, that's difficult. The race on foot will not be extremely fast due to these factors, we will be exhausted after swimming and pedaling. We are doing well in the rankings doing our own races, but if any of the three looks without possibilities and can help the others reach the podium, it will do without hesitation.

The three of us can perform very well in Rio. Britain brought someone to work for them, they already did it in London 2012 and the Brownlee did not even need it, they are too good by themselves. We have a team that can beat them, and individually we can fight to get on the Olympic podium.

Your training

"It was very good, we trained in Galicia with climatic conditions similar to those in Rio. I am happy to be here, my goal is to make my own career and give my best to win an Olympic medal. "
