Looking for a star Javier Lluch Pérez

This week in "Looking for a star" comes the turn of a new triathlon promise, Javier Lluch Pérez

Javier is another of the cadets who lives in the CAR in Madrid and who in just over a month (April 23, we will prepare the gift) will be 17 years old, he is from Valencia and since he was little he went swimming, although I never "hooked" him quite like triathlon does now.

In his first year as a cadet and without knowing any of the participants, he was Spain's duathlon champion in his category. Now in his last year of cadet (he is from the year 1998) he wants to win everything or at least not get off the podium, as he says.

When I go to see these "futuribles" I like to see their facebook page and check how many "friends" they have, in the case of Javier he has 402 and of which we share 106.

TN- Where did you study these last years before arriving in Madrid?

JLL- I was at the Technological Center of Cheste and there I studied from 1º of ESO to 4º, there I trained with Vanesa Huesa, I currently do 1º of high school here

TN- What did you do before entering the world of triathlon?

JLL- I started from very small to swim with my older brother at the Real Club Nafín Delfin, in Valencia and the years passed and I got bored a bit of swimming, it was very monotonous and I did not like it, so I decided to try athletics ...

TN- But you do athletics? Have I seen that you have gone to the Spanish Cross Country Championship?

JLL- I had never raced, this year I did two tests and went to Santander to the Club Championship and the truth is that it was not very good because I came from the summer without training and when I arrived here I did not have much "stuck". I did it since we were going to start a little later the season and to activate a bit the closest were those "crosses" and since there were some from here of the CAR that were in a La Mancha club, we all went there, with Quintanar.

TN- And after getting bored swimming ...

JLL- Well, I did a couple of years of athletics until one summer they did a triathlon school in Cheste and I went and I liked it a lot and that's where I started with the triathlon. There was the beginning.

TN- You're from CT Huracán de Valencia, but you did not start with them?

JLL- I was in several teams, first at the Escuelas de Valencia and then I went to Tragaleguas.org since they spoke very well to me about him and what the Candel's wear. At the Tragaleguas I would train my bike on weekends, because during the week I was interned in Cheste and at the Huracán they gave me the opportunity to “put” a lot of volume swimming and that was what I needed and there was Victor Benages and I wanted to learn from him .

TN- And how did you decide to come to Madrid?

JLL- I knew this because Roberto Sanchez was there in Cheste and when he finished 4º of ESO he also came here. So this is my first year and I want to do it right.

TN- But is not it a bit of fun to be here, internal, training, crushing ...?

JLL- I'm already a little used to my years in Cheste, although it has nothing to do, the schedules are different, the workouts and everything is a little complicated, but you have to fit well.

TN- Is it hard to live here?

JLL- Yes, but among all the partners they get along.

TN- And your family that thinks about this?

JLL- My family is delighted, although my mother is the one who suffers the most, because when I was in Cheste they would often see me and come at any time. My parents know that I wanted this and they have always supported me both, although to my mother that is far away, it takes worse.

TN- And you when you go to Valencia?

JLL- I try to go at least once a month, then when the competitions start we'll see more.

TN- You were in the European Youth Championship and got a bronze medal ..

JLL- It was the first time I was selected and I was very excited because I had good results in the season. In Russia it was amazing, I did not believe that I could really be there, the bronze medal was incredible.

When I got home and they went to pick me up at the airport ... I got there with the medal.

TN- Are you really what triathletes you admire?

JLL- Without hesitation Mario MolaWell, I think that I reflect a bit in it, we don't have a remarkable swimming and we are going back, it is more or less my reference in the world of triathlon.

TN- What do you like least to train and what else?

JLL- The most tiring thing is to train swimming, there are many meters, a lot of volume and many hours in the pool and what else the bicycle.

TN- But what do you think you need most?

JLL- Swimming. Now we are doing 4.000 to 5.000 meters, but we have got to do 6.000 meters.

TN- And what do you do in the little free time you have?

JLL- On Thursdays after swimming something soft in the morning, in the afternoon we have free and I try to advance the work that I can not do a normal day of studies, organize the room and sometimes we all go out to dinner that is appreciated.

TN- We learn everything and we know that you are called "the marquis".

JLL- (laughs). I put Benito, because I like to run with tracksuit and long pants and Benito told me that he would run impeccable, like a marquis.

TN- Do you have any financial or material help?

JLL- Recently I have entered the 2015 call of the FER project of the Valencian Community of all sports, so I have a little help. I still do not have another type of support.

TN- Who do you have to thank for being involved in this sporting adventure?

JLL- My parents have always supported me, when I did not want to swim I tried to do other sports and they have always been there. They have accompanied me to competitions, to training ... and for them everything comes out.

TN- Do you think about the JJOO of ... I do not know what year?

JLL- I see the 2020 very fast but in the 2024 who knows ..., I would like it.

TN- Would you be up to the 2024 here training?

JLL- I wish, I would like, because here I train as the most and I am very well adapted.

TN- And how are you going?

JLL- Well, I'm doing the baccalaureate in Social Sciences, I'm in class with Andrés Cendan. Then I would like to do something about the economy, for example ADE, Business Administration and Management.

TN- In the Gala of the Valencian Federation they gave you a prize ...

JLL- It was a prize for the results in the year, a very important recognition.

TN- Now there has been a change of President, to the new you know him well ..

JLL- The new president was my psychologist in Cheste and when I found out I was very happy, after having known him for so many years helping me and preparing myself for the competitions mentally. I'm glad that now he is president.

TN- Three years ago, in your first year as a cadet you won the Spanish Duathlon Championship, ... What do you expect for the 2015?

JLL- In the Championships of Spain and since it is my last year as a cadet, I want to play a good role and not get off the podium in all the championships. I hope to go to the European Youth Championship which is in Banyoles, I am going to do two European Junior Cups in Quarteira and Melilla and I will try to make a good role.

It's time to go running to Casa de Campo, the group starts to get nervous and they want to leave now.

We said goodbye to Javier, a triathlete who with only 16 years sees everything clear, .. his present and his future in triathlon.

We hope to see you ... always with your dreams fulfilled.
