Our star today: Ana Carvajal

The JJ.OO of the 2020 It seems that no, but they are just around the corner, at least the preparation has to be underway and work with boys and girls at young ages has to have their work to those ten years that are still to come.

We want from TRIATLÓN NEWS to look for that star that represents us in the 2020 and therefore we started a series of encounters with some of those possible stars.

We went to the CAR of Madrid and we are left with an 17 malagueña recently completed in January and she trains and studies 1º of high school in Madrid although she remembers a lot of her neighborhood of Campanillas and her friends and even that noviete who has there.

Ana Carvajal

I share Facebook with her and 672 has "friends", sure that from today the number will go up and we have 175 in common.

TN- In your neighborhood you are famous as athletes?

Ana - I am famous because I always played sports and when we were bronze in the European everybody knew about it.

TN- But you used to do a lot of sport before

Ana- If I did and do athletics, I would run cros. I started as a child in swimming and competed in 800 meters where I have a mark of just over 9 minutes. And even I played water polo, played central and extreme. I really liked playing.

TN- Are you currently focused on triathlon or do you spin around doing other things?

Ana- I would like to continue doing track athletics and I love doing 2.000 meters obstacles.

TN- But you would not like to be at home anymore, to make a more normal life without so much suffering? Is not it hard with 16 to leave your house, your friends, your neighborhood?

I'm doing well, last year I trained the same sessions as here but all in the afternoon, now I can train in two sessions, study ... I'm very good.

TN- Ana is a whirlwind, speaks and is packed, with a lot of energy, we say "could you stop talking to me in Malaga?

Ana-hahaha (laughs, is an Andalusian brunette with race and with very clear things, everything a possible star, maybe the 2020?)

Ana Carvajal

TN- And when you have free to dedicate free time?

Ana- Well, we go out to dinner, to buy things in Gran Vía, I love shopping. We had dinner and had a little fun on Thursdays, which is the rest day. We had fun.

TN- Have you marked some goals for the 2015?

Ana- Yes, I want to win everything, the triathlon, the duathlon, the aquathlon, since it is also my last year in the cadet category. And of course I want the gold in European youth. And also in the European Cups like Quarteira, Melilla and at a high level I want to start training internationally.

TN- And do not you think about the Olympic Games ?, Maybe the 2020 and those are far away.

Ana- If I think about them and I know that I will be training at the moment for those Games. You ask me if I will endure and I am clear that yes. That is the dream of every athlete.

TN- But here in Madrid it does not give you any bajonazo and think about your house and you get that melancholy that you would go running.

Ana- Yes, when I returned from Christmas, it was two weeks at home, although training and with my little brother and going back to the routine here gave me a bit of a slump.

TN- And when you see your family, your friends?

Ana- Every month more or less I go home and they let me go a "weekend"

TN- And what did you think when a newspaper in your country puts the next headline? : "A triathlete that amazes in Europe"

Ana- Well, I do not know, I did not know that I had left because they treat me like a little star and do sports. The truth is I really liked it.

The people of the institute sent me the interview, and there they hung it on the board so that everyone could see it.

TN- And win a bronze medal in the European of Russia, how does that take?

Ana- Well it was "the cane", the race went very well, although we had a cold death and when we won the medal it was like a bomb. My companions were Cecilia Santamaría and Raquel Mateos.

TN. You were at the Irontriath-Alpino-Benalmádena club. Now this year you have gone to the Ferrol Triathlon?

Ana- I really liked the club and there is my friend Carmen Gomez who got along very well with her and insisted so much that I went with her that in the end I signed for the Ferrol triathlon.

Those from Málaga did not say anything to me either, they passed a little bit of me and Ferrol called me and my father thought it was fine and that's it, there's no more.

They support me in travel, the monkey ..., the license I paid for it because I want to continue as an Andalusian.

TN- Do you get along well with the President of the Andalusian, Jose Maria Merchán?

Ana. I do get along with him, although I am not in the scholarship program as I am in a club outside Andalusia and it did not seem very fair.

TN- Who helps you in this triathlon, some sponsor?

Ana- Catlike gives me a helmet, glasses ... things like that, they have behaved well. Nobody else for now.

TN- How is your day here in the CAR?

Ana- I go to the institute and then we have two sessions. In the morning we run or do bike more race and in the afternoon always swimming. On weekends a lot of bicycle.

TN- Who would you like to remember and thank something?

Ana- I especially want to thank my father because he supports me very much and although he controls me a little he is not in bad plan, he is very affectionate. And my old coach Ignacio González who is always there and supports me to the fullest.

TN- By the way, do they call you here "chispi"?

Ana- siiii, I put Benito, is the best.
