The siesta time by Felipe Gutiérrez: "Some thanks"

When I wrote the last column I headed it with this paragraph: "This is the column number 42 since I collaborated with this section in Triathlon News and for now it will be the last, my head is already in KM0 mode"

This weekend was celebrated that dream I had a little over a year ago when the Annapurna company asked me for a project. During this year we had everything, but the only ones who did not doubt was me and of course the people of Annapurna who They dared with the project. They are people from the world of sports and do not cringe at anything or with more or less intentional comments from people interested? in which the test did not come out or that it was a failure.

I do not know what they gained in it ?, but the daily reality could happen for it. How many of you have not doubted ?, How many of you have heard some "wise" triathlon say that it was impossible?

Bueno, Pues Madrid was a big hit with this triathlon, the line of goal a show with so many people waiting, applauding and vibrating with the triathletes who reached the goal crying of emotion. More than one I had by my side falling the tears and saying something as sincere as "thank you".

I do not have an ego so high as to think that the test was from 10. I know there are things to change, I've seen it through my own eyes and failures are human failures of people who at some time have not come to understand or have not been able to a specific issue.

The truth is that I do not want to write about it and about the successes that there were infinitely more, I just want to take advantage of the opportunity in Triathlon News to write first of all to thank the many volunteers that we do not love enough and in many cases we seem to have forgotten them.

You know or at least I want you to know that it's not like that at all, we know that without your selfless work this would not have even gone well. Thank you all and I include the thousands who were in Buitrago, in the cycling route, in Madrid Rio, in Sol, in all those places that although you think you did not count for us you were necessary. A thank you is not only what I feel for you, but I have you in my heart.

Explain here in a column the outstanding support of the Civil Traffic Guard it is impossible. Never in my life in the world of triathlon, and I have been with 28 for years, had I seen such a human display and so much love of them for a test. I got goose bumps when I saw them guarding our athletes. Nobody will be able to overcome it.

People Civil Protection of the different places where the test passed, the volunteers of all the towns, what happened, impossible to improve, you are some cracks ...

And of course special mention to all Local Police and where there is much to be thankful to Madrid, once their collaboration, their traffic cuts and their dedication to the impeccable test.

I could name all the people of Annapurna that you know who you are, it's amazing the setting you have made for the triathlon, for a test that one day I present "a madman" of the world of sports and that you were sent to carry out without taking a step back. In this year we worked a lot of time together, many times we argued, we did not understand each other or you did not understand me and it was hard for me to understand things, in the end I think we have achieved something that will mark time in the national triathlon and Madrid I hope will be a world reference in long distance. I do not know any similar goal, I do not know anything like Madrid KM0.

Thanks Javier, you were the culprit when proposing it, and of course Alfonso and Gonzalo, the three of them are and will be a reference in the organization of events, they are ANNAPURNA SPORT, as well as Esmeralda who already knows as much triathlon as I do, Blanca and all the production people, all of you are "first class" workers, without forgetting Isabel, Carmen, Sylvia, Ana, Rafa .... What I've seen with you I've never seen and see that I've been and I've organized tests. I hope this goes on and I hope it goes more.

I would like to dedicate a line to David Garcia, my partner in the technical part, who gets involved so much on a personal level that he has no doubt that everything has to come out and the effort he makes goes beyond what could be a total implication. I can not forget about Paloma, Joaquín, Antonio, Natalia and of course those I do not name right now because I do not remember at this moment or because you are so many. Thanks to everyone from my heart, because on Sunday, thanks to everyone I saw one of my dreams come true.

I can not close this loop in which I have gotten without remembering and dedicate a point to the scholarships granted by the Madrid KM0 Triathlon to two young triathletes of the Community, neither more nor less than 3.000 euros for each one, so that they can focus their Sports trips, although I think they will go to all the boys / as of the Madrid Technification Center. I would like to see more organizations take the example.

Of course also a big hug, I think I gave it to many, to all the triathletes that you have trusted us without knowing how we took the test, that you trusted in our work without more. Thanks you can say that you are the first ones who were in the first "starlist" of KM0.

Of course it is easy to criticize and not know anything about anything, but people love to talk. In this test they were made 10 antidoping controls by the State Agency for the fight against doping. For the first three and 4 passed more by decision of the Agency. If there is a possibility to fight against the doping Triathlon Madrid KM 0 you have put all the possible means to make CLEAN PLAY, not only we speak also we put into practice what we promise.

This Wednesday I would have loved to nap again (Wednesday nap sacred to me), but it has been impossible, I still live the emotions, the tears of some triathletes in Sun, nerves, accumulated tension, thinking how many things there are change, be self-critical and do not put on an 10 and I am and I think that as my high school students would say: Profe what note do you put on? I am satisfied with an 6.5 and with the desire to look for the 10 in successive editions, that will undoubtedly make us better.

What will happen next year ?, Who knows, I do not know what I'm going to do tomorrow and as Cholo Simeone would say: "match by match", I qualify and say "day by day".

In the end we are all TRIATLÓN MADRID KM0. See you at the next appointment, for me with this column I put the final point, the September 27 is already history.
