Last Sunday, September 14, the city of Nice witnessed not only the triumph of Casper Stormes, but also of the effort and glory of almost 2.500 age-group triathletes from 86 countries.
El World HOMBRE DE HIERRO 2025 crowned the best in each category, in a day of authentic long-distance triathlon: 3,8 km swimming in the Mediterranean, 180 km cycling on the hinterland roads and 42,2 km running on the iconic Promenade des Anglais.
Quentin Amaral, absolute amateur champion
The great protagonist was the Frenchman Quentin Amaral, who traveled from Dubai to Nice to hang the crown of Absolute Age-Group World Champion, with a time of 8:41:20 in the M25-29 category.
Youth and experience on the asphalt
The youngest title was signed by Danyil Odynets (Ukraine), winner in M18-24 with 9:09:42.
At the other extreme, the emotion was experienced with Gian Marco Tironi, from Italy, who at over 75 years old completed the test in 13:35:24 and was proclaimed world champion in M75-79.
Germany, the most successful country
The German Navy took home three crowns: lars wichert (M35-39), Norman Stüwe (M45-49) and John Dietrich (M70-74). The United States, France, Switzerland, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates also added titles.
Spain achieves one podium and three Top 10 finishes in IRONMAN age groups
The Spanish representation in the age groups of the IRONMAN World Championships Nice 2025 left three outstanding results within the Top 10.
The Canary Nico Ward He was the best national with a 5th place in M40-44, marking 9:19:41 and a solid marathon in 2:55:16.
The podium signed it Jesus Martinez, third in M65-69 with 12:08:39 and the best running split in his category. In addition, Gorka Garitaonandia completed the Spanish performance with a creditable 6th place in M55-59 after 10:33:04.

The perfect setting for the triathlon
The race offered a spectacular route: crystal-clear waters of the Baie des Anges, a demanding cycling circuit with technical climbs and descents through mountain villages, and a vibrant four-lap marathon along the Mediterranean.
All of this was accompanied by the encouragement of thousands of fans who never stopped cheering.
