IRONMAN Texas 2026: 107 pros and two Spaniards at the start

One of the deepest start lists of the year

El HOMBRE DE HIERRO Texas 2026 will bring together 107 professional triathletes on April 18 in The Woodlands in one of the strongest start lists of the year, with a prominent Spanish presence from Marta Sánchez and Antonio Benito López.

The event will also be the IRONMAN North American Championship, with $175.000 in prize money, 5.000 Pro Series points, and six slots per gender for the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona.

A very high-level start list in Texas

The Texas race has been generating buzz for days, but the professional entry list confirms that it's one of the most competitive races on the long-distance calendar. In total, the current start list includes 107 professionals: 26 women y 81 men.

That explains the true weight of the event. Not just because of the top names, but because of the depth of the field. There are world champions, Kona podium contenders, middle-distance specialists making the leap to the full-distance, and several runners with enough skill to compete for slots.

Kat Matthews, Knibb and Løvseth elevate the women's race

The women's race is packed with big names. Kat matthews He starts as one of the top contenders after dominating the Pro Series in recent years. Alongside him appears Solveig Lovseth, reigning IRONMAN world champion, and also Taylor Knibb, one of the most decisive triathletes on the international scene when competing in middle and long distance events.

The level doesn't stop there. The list also includes Hannah Berry, Lisa Perterer, Jackie Hering, Danielle lewis, India Lee o Sara SvenskIt's a race with a lot of depth and very little room for error.

In that context it appears Marta Sanchez, the only Spanish woman in the women's field and one of the most influential national triathletes in the IRONMAN franchise right now.

The men's draw: from the Norwegian train to Lange, Ditlev and Geens

If the women's race is impressive, the men's race will surely go a step further. Kristian Blummenfelt He lands in Texas after a very solid start to the season and leads a Norwegian squad that also includes Casper Stornes y Gustav Iden.

Alongside them appear names like Patrick Lange, three-time world champion; Marten Van Riel; Rudy von berg; Jelle Geens in his debut at the distance; Jonas Schomburg; Magnus ditlev; Sam long; Lionel Sanders; Jason West o Vincent Luis.

It's a start list where almost any small gap can shake up the race. There are very different profiles: great cyclists, lethal runners, middle-distance specialists who want to test themselves in the full-distance, and veterans who know this type of terrain perfectly.

On a national level, the focus is on Anthony Benito LopezThe man from La Mancha will be the only Spanish representative in the men's event and once again faces a highly demanding scenario.
