The Olympic triathlete Marina Damlaimcourt returns to the national panorama of triathlon, after an operation, with the dispute this weekend in the Olympic Triathlon on Olympic distance.

Maria had already competed this season getting proclaimed Champion of Madrid of Duathlon and with victory in the Elche triathlon, 

From Triathlon News we wanted to ask her how her recovery is going and how she faces her return to competition.

How are you after the operation?

I am fully recovered from the operation, at the end of November I have to return to the doctor to be given the definitive discharge, but in the last revision, just a month ago and 1 week, I was given the go-ahead to start training normally. .

 So in a progressive way, and thinking more about next season than in this one, I started training. I'm not at 100%, I had a difficult summer after Guille's accident and although I was physically able to train normally, things at home were quite complicated and sometimes it was impossible to make room for training.

 In the last 10 days, fortunately, Guille has improved a lot and that's why I decided to sign up for some races. I wanted to compete and the circuit not drafting series was a goal for the club, so even if it is not to stop, I'll run again to try to dispute it at least.

How do you see the race? In what other tests do you plan to compete?

In between Oliva and Antella I will run in Nice with the French team the last stage of the Grand Prix. I want to be back at the start of a triathlon, It has been a very tough summer and I know it will cost me, especially in the middle of Antella I will arrive very justita. But in these tests my objectives are to make contact again with the competition, see a bit as I am physically to focus next season and above all enjoy.
