This Sunday the Monument in Memory of the Cyclists Died in Traffic Accidents is inaugurated

On Sunday at the 12h00, in the Seville municipality of Santiponce, the official inauguration of the Monument in Memory of the Cyclists Died in Traffic Accidents, in the 808 kilometer point of the N-630 road, one of the most traveled by cyclists and drivers in the province.

 

The City Council of Santiponce, which collected the proposal of a commission of cycling clubs (Caracol de Bormujos, Currito de Santiponce, Espartinas, Giralda de Sevilla, Pedal de Sevilla, Hispabikers, Los Guzmanes de La Algaba, Triathlon Camaleón ...) has been the driving force of the project together with Action and Events.

 

In addition to inaugurating the monument, it is intended to keep a sincere tribute to all deceased cyclists in traffic accidents and try to make drivers aware of the helplessness of these athletes on the road and the vital importance of respecting safety distances with them.

 

As a parallel act there will be a cycling concentration at the door of Itálica in Santiponce, and many cyclists and Andalusian triathletes will attend.

 

The event will be chaired by José Carbonell Santarén, the most excellent mayor of the City of Santiponce, with Gonzalo Valera, second deputy mayor, and Miguel Ángel Gil, delegate of General Services, Infrastructure and Urban Equipment, Environment and Festivities.
