The accident consisted of a frontal collision between the truck and the paraplegic's adapted vehicle

According to the newspaper Hoy.es, José Ángel Aceitón Chaparro, 34 years old, died this afternoon after colliding with a truck on the EX-343 road, which connects the Badajoz towns of Hornachos with Campillo de Llerena, as confirmed by the Traffic Civil Guard.

The incident occurred about six kilometers from Hornachos in the direction of the EX-103 when the disabled cyclist was traveling with his handbike (hand bike) and the causes of the event are being investigated.

José Ángel stayed paraplegic at age 17 after suffering a traffic accident. As confirmed by the Civil Traffic Guard, the accident that occurred this Wednesday consisted of a frontal collision between the truck and the paraplegic's adapted vehicle at kilometer 4.400 of the aforementioned road.

A medical team from the Hornachos health center and a helicopter from the Extremeño Health Service (SES) have traveled to the scene of the events, although they have finally been unable to do anything to save the life of the victim of this outrage. A Civil Guard patrol has also moved to the place of the event.

The cyclist's funeral will take place this Thursday at 16.30 pm at the Nuestra Señora de los Remedios de Hornachos hermitage.

The Directorate General of Sports of the Junta de Extremadura has expressed its sorrow for the death of the cyclist through its profile on the social network Twitter and has sent a message insisting on the need to respect road safety regulations to protect cyclists .
