A cyclist of 73 years dies when being run over by a van

Carlos López Salazar, 73 years old, lost his life on August 3 when he was riding his bicycle when he was run over by a van on the dangerous N-230, within the municipality of Estopiñán del Castillo (Huesca)
According to sources from the Civil Guard and emergency services, yesterday's accident occurred at 9.50 am at kilometer point 50,325 of the N-230 near the town of Saganta, in the Ribagorzano municipality of Estopiñán del Castillo. .
The victim was riding his bike in the direction of Benabarre on a straight uphill section with an acceleration lane - although practically without a shoulder - and was rammed from behind by a van whose driver I had not noticed his presence. As a result of the impact, the cyclist was thrown crashing brutally against the asphalt and died practically on the spot.
