The time of the Siesta by Felipe Gutiérrez: SOS CASA CAMPO

Open letter (or closed, or folded ... it does not matter that I do not think you read it) to the Mayor of Madrid or to whom it corresponds (if it does not correspond to her).

Last weekend I was at the Casa de Campo watching a duathlon that was held there and that goes in its XXIV Edition and that bears the title of Villa of Madrid. This time I allowed myself the luxury of "kicking" the bike and walking route and when I got home, I told myself how bad the Casa de Campo is!

I have been thinking about it for several days and the truth is that today, taking advantage of my nap time, which I am certainly unable to close an eye to think about writing, I try to create a little "bad" feeling to all those who read me and among my friends, my acquaintances and someone who reads me to see what I write, are a few and I do not say it, the statistics say.

For those of us who like sports and the Casa de Campo, we know that it had a time that had improved a lot, but lately it's getting worse, if you look at the photos and do not look at the athletes you can see that the asphalt is "broken", the firm is insecure and you have to do a real slalom to avoid putting the wheel in a pothole with all the possibilities of falling. And let's not say the edges of the road full of bushes, bushes and also garbage

It is true that they removed the scourge of prostitution, at least in the area around the lake but there is another scourge that is the crap, the misuse that is made of this natural lung where the locals and those who are not can Enjoy that space.

And of course, those who have a dog go and loose it by the Casa de Campo (that also happens in El Retiro) and nothing happens and God forbid you to complain. Nobody controls that either!

Duathlon Villa de Madrid in the country house

Ms. Alcaldesa, I know she has barely a month to leave her term and she will do little or nothing if she did not do it for so long, so I think that little can be expected about the cleaning of the Casa de Campo and being more selfish I would like to think only about the circuit where triathlon events are usually held, its asphalt, its ditches ... we are going to cry from my point of view.

Triathlons begin in no time and this year there are a few, there are already some dates reserved for such events and even with a Triathlon European Cup that "sends" the image to the participating countries and that undoubtedly is an economic injection to the different restaurants in the area They also take the opportunity to complain that there are sporting events even if they are one of the beneficiaries directly.

With the topic of "he who does not cry does not breastfeed", I want to cry a little and ask for a small budget to fix and clean ... well the Casa de Campo.

We want to continue enjoying it, even for a walk, to go sunbathing near the lake, the amusement park, the Zoo ... to compete in any of the events to be held there.

I'm sure you'll never read this opinion, but if someone reads it and they tell you something and they come to "the one with the money" just ask them to protect this space. Perhaps within a month send others or the same, I do not care, but I do not care that you abandon one of the treasures of Madrid and we need.

Mrs. Mayor or whoever may be, think of everyone ... if she does not only I will sleep a good nap, we will all enjoy it.

And taking advantage of the fact that all or almost all of us think the same, it would be good to create a day for all sport lovers: cycling, running, swimming, strollers, etc ... to make an appointment in the Lago de la Casa de Campo and "complain" peacefully with the SOS CASA DE CAMPO slogan.
