Iker Prieto and Carmen Peralta take the 3º Iberman LD

The test was led by the strong wind that made the course even harder

Yesterday the third edition of the Iberman LD where the 350 triathletes near e faced 3,8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and the 42 km of running on foot.

The victory was for Iker Prieto with a final 9 time: 33: 14 followed by Mark Costa y Paulo Ferreira,

Prieto based his victory on an incredible cycling sector where he stopped the 5 hours 1 minutes, while his fellow riders reached more than 25 minutes of the Basque. In the race he limited himself to keep that difference to arrive with those 26 minutes with respect to Costa.

In the female category, the victory was for the Cádiz Carmen Peralta who used 11 hours 15 hours 2 minutes, ahead of the winner of the previous two editions also the Cadiz Maria Jesus Sierra (11: 28.21), who accused the Ironman on the bike that he had made seven days before in Mallorca, which does not detract from the exceptional performance of the chiclanera. Closed the female box, the Huelva Susana Cordero with a time of 13 hours 54 minutes 50 seconds.

All this in a day in which the wind was protagonist as the day progressed, which increased even more if the difficulty for the nearly four hundred triathletes, coming from all the European continent and from countries like Mexico, registered in This is the III Iberman LD Eurocity of the Guadiana.

The wind, in any case, only became one more ingredient of what was a show that consolidates this project among the best that can be enjoyed by the surroundings, the routes and the organization in charge of the Club Deportivo Iberman with the collaboration of the Portuguese Triathlon Federation, the Chambers and City Councils through which the event (Vila Real, Castro Marín, Alcoutim and Mértola) takes place on Portuguese soil; and El Granado, Villanueva de los Castillejos, San Silvestre, Villablanca and Ayamonte and its Sports Board), on Spanish soil.
