Three medals for the Spanish Paratriathlon at the Paratriathlon Event in Detroit

Great role of Spanish paratriathletes in the ITU Paratriathlon Event in Detroit (USA). An event in which have excelled, garnered three medals throughout the afternoon of this Sunday 16 August.

 

 

Belle Isle Park, very close to downtown Michigan State, has become the epicenter of competitions. Some tests that started with 750 m of swimming in the Detroit River, followed by 20 km cyclists and finally 5 km end of race on foot.

In PT1 category, José Vicente Arzo He has won the silver medal, excelling in the third segment of the test in which he has scored the best partial. The triumph has been for him triathlete of Brazil, Fernando Aranha. While the bronze medal has been for the French Alexandre Paviza.

For its part, Lionel Morales has reached the third place in the PT2 category. The Spaniard has achieved the bronze medal after performing at a very high level in the three sectors of the test. The rest of the podium was formed by the British Ryan Taylor y Andrew Lewis, first and second respectively.

Joaquín Carrasco he has climbed to the second step of the podium in PT3, after maintaining a very regular level in the three segments, highlighting his last sector of the race on foot, in which he has stood out especially, achieving the second best partial. The US triathlete Andre Cilliers has been imposed in this modality, with Edson Dantas (Brazil) completing the podium in third position.

While the other two Spanish participants, have been depleted by the physical problems that drag. A) Yes Rafael Solis was ranked tenth in the PT4 category and Toni Franco in 11º place. The victory has been for Chris Hammer (USA), with George Peasegood (Great Britain) occupying the second place and the Mexican José Abraham Estrada signing the bronze medal.

A new brilliant performance by our paratriathletes in the third scoring event for the classification of the next Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
