500 triathletes compete this Sunday in Torrevieja the third test of the TriWhite 2016

Torrevieja marks the equator of the competition and its results will begin to define the general classifications.

Without time to taste the excellent day lived last Sunday in Pilar de la Horadada arrives this Sunday in Torrevieja the third appointment of the TriWhite Cup, most important and popular triathlon circuit in the Mediterranean with headquarters in three autonomous communities (Comunidad Valenciana, Región de Murcia and Andalucía).

The test will have the participation of nearly 500 triathletes, will be played, as is traditional, in three distances (Olympic, Sprint and Super Sprint) and will have the competition scenario Marina Salinas leisure complex, in the heart of the town , from where all the spectators will have the opportunity to follow the evolutions of the triathletes in each of the sectors, something unusual in a triathlon competition.

The swimming sector will be held in open waters in the spectacular dock of the marina; the cycling will run parallel to the sea across the bay and part of the beach; and the race on foot will be developed completely in parallel to the coast by the jetty of the port, one of the most emblematic and idyllic scenarios for the triathlete of all the TriWhite Cup offers.

Clubs throughout Spain will be represented in this event. The Valencian Community, Murcia and Andalusia are the autonomous communities that contribute the most to Castilla-La Mancha and Madrid. The test of Torrevieja is, for regulars of the circuit, one of the most valued since in addition to being followed live by thousands of spectators has a completely urban layout in an ideal location to combine sport with tourism.

The exit of the Olympic triathlon (1.500 meters of swimming, 38 kilometers of cycling and 10 kilometers of running) will take place at 8.30 hours. Two and a half hours later the Sprint competition will begin (750 swimming meters, 20 kilometers of bicycle and 5 kilometers of running).

The 12.30 will begin the Super Sprint competition (300 swimming meters, 10 kilometers of cycling and 2,5 kilometers of running). The trophy ceremony is scheduled for the 13.30 hours. From Saturday, all participants will be able to pick up their numbers and that transition will be open to the triathletes that same afternoon.

Torrevieja is one of the classic squares of TriWhite Cup that has left unforgettable memories, such as the victory last year of the veteran Mateo Pesquer in the Olympic category or the disqualification of Ana Belén Maruny, despite his incontestable victory, for receiving outside help during the sector of cycling.

This year, the test is located right at the equator of the calendar, so the results can begin to be transcendent for the general classification. At the moment, Carlos Ferrando, of the University of Alicante, dominates in men, in Olympic category, with two victories in as many tests, while in women Maruny, of the Arena, and Cristina González, of Arcos Albacete, the triumphs are shared. In Sprint and Super Sprint the fight is much more open among the aspirants.

The test of Torrevieja can be followed live on social networks through the hashtag #TriwhiteLIVE. This third meeting of the circuit is the last venue before the break of the competition during the summer. The TriWhite Cup will return in the month of September with three new tests in emblematic Mediterranean scenarios.
