Ainhoa Murua, Carolina Routier and Miriam Casillas to score points for Rio in New Plymouth
Double World Champion Gwen Jorgensen (USA) begins her season in New Plymouth
This coming Sunday will be a new edition of the ITU Triathlon World Cup in New Plymouth (Australia) where Ainhoa Murua, Carolina Routier y Miriam Casillas will participate in the test. In the male category Spain will not have representation.
In the women's event, the big favorite is the double World Champion Gwen Jorgensen, which reappears in competition since last year. Jorgensen won in 2015 6 consecutive wins in the World Series which earned him the world title.
Another athlete to take into account will be the New Zealand Andrea Hewitt, which also debuted this season and was second in the world rankings last year. Andrea is the only woman who has been on the ITU ranking podium 5 times. Last year's winner Katilin Donner It will also be on the list of departure.
As for the Spanish, Ainhoa Murua, Carolina Routier y Miriam Casillas they aspire to continue adding points for their Olympic classification.
In the men's event we will not have any Spanish representatives, although Alberto Casillas, brother of Miriam, will participate on behalf of Lithuania.
The favorite for victory is Richard Murray, won last year and that comes from getting second place in Abu Dhabi. Other triathletes to keep in mind will be Aaron Royle, Ryan Sissos or the Russians Rostyslav Pevtsov y Alexander Bryukhankov .
The women's event will be held at 11: 00 and the men's at 13: 00 on Sunday 3 in April (local time)
