Alejandro Santamaría and Saleta Castro win the Desafio 8ª island

The island of La Graciosa has once again hosted this original event where trail running and triathlon tests are combined.

Alejandro Santamaría y Saleta Castro they have been proclaimed winners of the absolute classification of the fifth edition of the Desafio 8ª island

During this weekend, the fourth edition of the Eighth Island Challenge was held on the Island of La Graciosa, a competition that consists of a Cros Triathlon and a Trail Running race.

Male Category

In the male category Alejandro Santamaría (3: 26: 10) prevailed in the general followed by Leon Martin (3: 26: 14) and of Fernando Rodríguez (3: 30: 24) in third position

On Saturday, the cros triathlon was held, where the winner was León Drajer, followed by Fernando Rodriguez and Alejandro Santamaría in third position.

Already in the day of Sunday, in the test of trail of 31 km, was the madrileño Alexander Santamaría who took the victory and obtaining the first position in the general classification. The second in Lleguar was Peru Alfaro, followed by Juan José Floudiquié- León Drajer was fourth in the race, getting the second final place.

Female category

In the female category the victory in the general was for Saleta Castro (4: 01: 45), followed by Lucy Biddlestone (4: 06: 26) and of Laura Jane (4: 19: 46) occupying the third final position.

Saleta Castro took the victory in the Cros Triathlon race on Saturday, where Lucy Biddlestone was second and Laura Jane took third place. In the trail of 31 km the winner was Lucy Biddlestone followed closely by Saleta Castro, which earned her to get the victory in the general. The third classified was Esther Rodriguez-
