Alistair Brownlee wins at home the Leeds World Series

Spectacular race where the brothers escaped in cycling and made the public enjoy the race on foot.

 

After the female race where Gwen Jorgensen has returned to get the victory, it was the turn of the men's race where the current World Champion Javier Gómez Noya and the Brownlee brothers turned to see each other's faces, since since the Chicago Grand Final in 2014 the three had not competed together .

The absence of the winners of the 4 tests this year stood out, Mario Mola  y Fernando Alarza that yesterday debuted with a second place in the Zaraut Triathlon, medium distance test.

The first to leave the water were Richard Varga followed closely by Raphael Aurelien, Aaron Royle, the Brownlee brothers and Javier Gómez Noya who came out in fifth position.

In the first kilometers of the cycling sector, a group was formed at the head where Alistar Brownlee was, followed closely by a group where they were Noya, Jonathan Brownlee and Varga among others, where shortly after the British launched an attack reaching the head group soon.

This group of 4 formed by the Brownlee, Aairon Royle and Raphael Aurelien was increasing the advantage until arriving at the T2 with 2 minutes of advantage over the second group of Noya and Varga.

In the first meters of the walking race Alistair and Jonathan left Royle and Aurelien left together alone.  Alistair Brownlee He launched an attack on his brother, distancing him little by little to reach the goal alone and achieve the final victory in his city. The second was Jonathan Brownlee followed by Aairon Royle in the third final position

Javier Gómez Noya He made a quick run to finish out in the fourth final position. Vicente Hernández finally I finish in the 26ª position
