Anna Godoy, the best Spanish in the European Championship of Triathlon Sub23

Anna Godoy has completed a remarkable performance this Saturday 25 of July, obtaining an outstanding 11ª final position in the European Women's Sub23 Triathlon Championship. A competition that has developed in the Girona town of Banyoles.

The first day of competitions of the Triathlon Youth and Sub23 European Championships started yesterday in the afternoon with the girls Sub23 being responsible for opening this exciting weekend of competitions.

Absolute domain of the British Lucy Hall in the European Women's Sub23 Triathlon Championship held this afternoon in Banyoles. The British triathlete has controlled the competition from start to finish, leaving alone and progressively extending her advantage. The British has been increasing the distances, in this way to face the last third of the championship with a comfortable mattress that has allowed to seize the continental title of this edition 2015.

After the British, a platoon of about 20 triathletes struggled to close the gap and catch up with Hall. Among them, the Spanish stood out Anna Godoy and Xisca Tous. Both triathletes have worked hard in this sector to reduce the differences. However, today Lucy Hall has been intratabale, and has been consolidating her advantage in each lap of the circuit.

Entering the race on foot, Hall continued his solo bet at the front of the race. While behind, a group of about ten triathletes have played the remaining positions of the podium in a very open foot race. Anna Godoy has started the sector very well located, maintaining a very regular rhythm. Unfortunately, some physical discomfort and the wear and tear caused on the bike, have prevented him from doing his best in this last stage of the race.

A large Lucy Hall has won with ease, stopping the time in 01: 59: 15. While the Italian Ilaria Zane has shone in the last meters, in order to hang the silver and Portuguese medal Melanie Santos He has closed the podium, climbing to the third drawer of it.

For its part, Xisca Tous has performed at a good level, highlighting in the first two sectors of the test, and finally getting a meritorious 19ª square. Then, Anna Flaquer It has been classified in 25º place. Melina Alonso has been the next Spanish to cross the finish line in 25ª position, and after it, Laura Gomez 28ª has finished. Unfortunately, Camila Alonso -sexta Spanish representative in the appointment- has had worse luck and has had to retire in the cycling sector.
