Start 2016, a year of strong emotions in the Spanish triathlon.

The entrance of the New Year marks the beginning of what promises to be a brilliant season in which important innovations will break out. 

A new edition of the Trangoworld Winter Triathlon Cup of Spain will be in charge of opening the season on January 24. Formed by four venues, and hand in hand with the firm Trangoworld, the circuit will take place between the months of January and February. Likewise, in 2016 we will also have the Spanish Middle Distance Triathlon Cup. A scenario made up of five tests spread over four venues that will include Elche, Pamplona, ​​Valencia and Ibiza.

The Spanish championship calendar will offer an incredible and wide range of competitions that will take place throughout the Spanish geography from the end of January and that will culminate in Ibiza at the end of October. An intense journey through all the different modalities, which will start in Reinosa on January 30 and that in the cases of the elite Spanish Duathlon and Triathlon Championships will have previous qualifiers. Around twenty tests, this 2016 will present important novelties that will seek to raise the bar and offer the best possible scenarios. A year in which the arrival of the Cofidis Spanish Grand Prix will mark a before and after, with the birth of a circuit destined to revolutionize the national triathlon.

At the international level, and against the background of the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games to be held in August, our triathletes will embark on a new edition of the ITU World Series and the World and European championships. and the continental cups. Among them, Spain will receive numerous international competitions, including the Duathlon World Championship that will take place in Avilés at the beginning of June and the return, one more year, of the iconic venues of Madrid or Melilla to the international arena, among others. They will be joined by high-caliber international competitions such as Ironman and Challenge Paguera Mallorca, making 2016 an extraordinary journey for national and international triathlons.
