Banyoles hosts the European Triathlon Championships by 2016 Clubs

In 2016 Banyoles will become the headquarters of a new format, hosting the European Championship Triathlon Championships. An event will take place next September 3 coinciding with the celebration of the Spanish Triathlon Championship.

The Spanish Triathlon federation has just announced that the Girona town will bring together the best clubs on the European continent in the dispute of a title that will take place on the mixed relay modality. An idyllic setting for a competition that is expected to be dizzying, with the Estany de Banyoles acting as a reference for some tests that will run through the magnificent places of the Catalan municipality.

The designation by the ETU also reveals Banyoles as one of the most representative venues of international triathlon. A city committed to sport, with a broad organizational experience and strongly linked to triathlon. In turn, the European Federation supports the organizational work of the Spanish Triathlon Federation in international events at the highest level.
