Beltrand Billard and Tine Deckers win the Ironman 70.3 Aix, Miquel Blanchart 15º

Due to weather conditions the swimming test has been canceled.

 

Today in Provence, the European Ironman Circuit has been kicked off with the dispute of the Ironman 70.3 Pays d'Aix.

The competition started this morning at 8 in the morning to face the 90 km of cycling through Provence, due to the suspension of the swimming sector due to bad weather.

The French Beltrand Billard has been the clear dominator coming to T2 with a 2:12 lead over Germans Marcus Herbst and Maurice Clavel at 2:23. Miquel Blanchart entered late more than 13 minutes from the head of the race.

Beltrand has managed to maintain his advantage in the 21 km race on foot, reaching the finish line alone and achieving victory with a final time of 3:30:32. The second classified was the German Maruice Clavel (3: 22: 21) followed by the Austrian Christian Birggruber (3: 34: 21) in third position.

As for the Spanish, Miquel Blanchart (3: 42: 44) was 15º, Luis Vila (3: 44: 15) 18º y Santiago Abad (3: 57: 19) 34º.

In the feminine category the winner has been the Belgian Tine Deckers with a final time of 3: 56: 18 followed in second position by the German Julia Gajer (4: 02: 29) and by the British Nikki Barlett (4: 04: 07) in third position. In the test there was no Spanish representation.
