Devils of Rivas and the University of Alicante Champions of Spain of Triathlon by Relays

The CT Diablillos de Rivas and the University of Alicante were proclaimed yesterday in Pontevedra Spanish champions of triathlon by relays, in the elite categories for men and women respectively.

 

In the women's event, the AD Ecosport Triathlon Alcobendas sent to the exit of T1 of the first relay, however the tables would change and after the stretch of 6 km cyclists, Meritxell Velasco del Fasttriathlon, Xisca Tous, CT Diablillos de Rivas and Lucia Salafranca of the Las Rozas Triathlon Club disputed the leadership. Finally, Tous and Salafranca would be the first to deliver the witness.

Entries in the second relay, Ibone Sanchez Garmendia del Diablillos, Dolça Ollé del Fasttriathlon and Ana Carvajal Ferrol Triathlon leading the contest. Carvajal and Sanchez Garmendia would get slightly ahead of the T2 exit, with Ollé marching in third place. The situation would remain the same and adjusted and the triathlete of the Rivas-Vaciamadrid team would pass the turn to Paula García Godino to carry out the last relief.

The Diablillos and the Fasttriathlon, now with Anna Flaquer, mediated the cyclist sector, and they took the lead with Camila Alonso of the Ferrol Triathlon in third position.

At the last leg of the foot race, García Godino and Flaquer were fighting to win the title of champions of Spain. Final victory for him CT Devils of Rivas with a team made up of Xisca Tous, Ibone Sánchez Garmendia and Paula García Godino. The runner-up would be for the representatives of the Fasttriatlon - CN Montjuic (Meritxell Velasco, Dolça Ollé and Anna Flaquer) and Sara Guerrero, Ana Carvajal and Camila Alonso stood with the bronze medal.

The University of Alicnate repeats at the top of the male elite podium

The University led the test from the first reliever. Roberto Sanchez already handed over his lead and Cesc Godoy not only kept the position of privilege, but increased the distances significantly. In this way, Jesús Gomar gave a total exhibition, with a huge superiority, while behind was the fight.

The Fasttriatlon, always in the outstanding positions, arrived at the last relay (Jordi García) in second position, while the Arcade was in fifth place, although going back. Thus, Antón Ruanova faced his turn and segment by segment he was increasing positions. In the exit of the last transition, with only 1,2 kilometers ahead, was third with Jordi García in the crosshairs, but Ruanova squeezed and achieved a second position that knew them to triumph.

Roberto Sánchez Mantecón, Cesc Godoy and Jesús Gomar of the University of Alicante repeated for the second consecutive year at the top of the podium. A podium in which the members of the Arcade Inforhouse of Santiago (Alberto Castiñeira, Diego Paz and Antón Ruanova) would reach the subcampeoanto and the Fasttriatlon - CN Montjuic with Albert Parreño, Nan Oliveras, Jordi Garcia Gracia would round off the podium obtaining the third place.

Previously, the triathletes of the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial conquered the women's school championship, on a podium shared with the members of the Saltoki Trikideak, second, and with the Galician triathletes Motobike Galaico Pontevedra, third. In the men's event, the boys of the ADSevilla Bikila team A won with the victory, with the Andalusians of the Montilla-Córdoba Triathlon reaping the silver medal and the Madrid team of CT Diablillos de Rivas taking third place on the podium.

In the women's open category, victory would be for the girls of the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial team B, with CT Las Rozas team B hanging the silver medal and CT Ondarreta Alcorcón team B signing the bronze medal. In the men's event, the podium was made up of representatives of CT Diablillos de Rivas team C, silver for the Clavería Móstoles Triathlon team B and the third metal went to the boys of the Montilla-Córdoba Triathlon team B.
