The Kitzbühel World Cup has been canceled. We will not be able to see the new time classification format

The test was going to be the premiere of the new time classification format

Due to unexpected circumstances, the elite ITU World Cup races have been canceled in the Austrian town Kitzbüehel that they were going to dispute this next 19 of June.

Only the elite tests are canceled, since the youth races will take place and the ITU will take advantage to check the new time classification format.

Herwig Grabner director of the test comments “TAll our efforts to reach a solution were unsuccessful. Therefore, we believe that it is best to cancel this year's World Cup as soon as possible to allow Federations and athletes to make the necessary changes in their agendas. We deeply feel the inconvenience caused and we hope to return as the venue for future ITU races, ".

On the other hand Marisol Casado, president of the ITU clarifies: "We are sorry that we can not compete in the World Cup race in Kitzbuehel this year, as it is a historic city in the organization of successful ITU calendar events. However, we continue with our commitment to incorporate new formats, and then introduce the time trials in youth careers to explore how to add it to future events".

As of today, the Kitzbüehel World Cup will not be replaced in the 2016 calendar.
