Ifema will stop organizing Unibike, the most important cycling fair for the Spanish market.

The Association of Brands and Bicycles of Spain (AMBE) has announced that the new event will be webike, at the Palacio de Cristal in Madrid on 7,8 and 9 of September.

Both organizations have agreed to focus their relationship on the generation of formats closer to professional meetings linked to training; the promotion of the bicycle as a means of transport, and bicycle tourism

With this, they want to respond to a market that is being agitated by the introduction on a larger scale of the assisted pedaling bicycle, which requires technical training platforms for both the marketing and distribution companies and for the retail trade.

Likewise, IFEMA will serve as the main stage for the debate that is generated around the work that AMBE has been carrying out together with Local Administrations (City Councils and Provincial Councils), Autonomous Communities and the General State Administration for the development of a State Strategic Plan of the Bicycle, as well as for the promotion of the use of the bicycle as a means of transport, with special focus on the proposals that want to channel the growing interest in turning our country into a preferred destination for cycling tourism.

Regarding the fair environment, AMBE has decided to promote, under its own organization, a new event model that can include Paddock Zones and Demo Test Circuits, in a more conducive environment to accentuate its active and experiential character. IFEMA is, therefore, detached from this initiative, which in turn cancels the show up to now promoted by both organizations, whose name was UNIBIKE.

In practice, the decision means the cancellation of the announcement of this 2018 of the Unibike fair
