Challenge Madrid presents "The Festival": 21, 22 and 23 of September

The German franchise presents “The Festival”, a renewed format of the CHALLENGE MADRID.

• Fun Run: 4k
• Junior Run: 4k
• Open Water: 1.9k + 3.8k
• Great Time Trial Fund: 171k

This event, which goes hand in hand with the CHALLENGE FAMILY, will offer the days 21, 22 y de Septiembre 23 a series of activities for the participants and their families. The main objective of the festival is to accommodate the escorts of the triathletes so they can participate and enjoy the different acts of the long weekend.

“The Festival” will kick off on Friday, September 21 in the afternoon with a press conference at the Madrid City Council where different parties will participate triathletes PRO.

On Saturday 22 from September to the 12: 00, from the sports center of Buitrago de Lozoya, it will be the turn of the FUN RUN, a 4 kilometers race designed for the enjoy family and friends of all the places of Spain and also of the Municipalities of the Sierra Norte of Madrid. A little later, and from the same sports center, the JUNIOR RUN, a test with different distances for the little ones.

On the 13: 00, the breafing will be carried out in English and Spanish, and then the Pasta Party. To end the day on Saturday, at the 18: 00 and from the Embalse de Riosequillo in Buitrago de Lozoya, the OPEN WATER, a swim test of 1.900 and 3.800 meters.

On Sunday 23 September comes the main course and the main event of the CHALLENGE MADRID. On the 08: 00 will be the kick-off of the LONG DISTANCE (3.800m of swimming + 171km of cycling + 42km of running race) in a new running circuit that will travel, mostly, lemblematic buildings of the city of Madrid and will maintain its goal in the 0 Km of the Puerta del Sol. Half an hour later, from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Buitrago de Lozoya, the GREAT TIME TRIAL FUND, a novel test on a large-scale bicycle against the clock of 171km that will travel wonderful sites of the Sierra Madrileña and also recover the famous return to the ports with the climbs of Canencia, Morcuera and Cotos.

Challenge Madrid will European Championship of Long Distance of the ETU, so the great stars of the European triathlon and other continents will meet in this new edition that ensures a wide national and international media coverage.
