The test changes its cycling circuit

The German franchise presents “The Festival”, a renewed format of the CHALLENGE SALOU. This event, which goes hand in hand with the CHALLENGE FAMILY, will offer the days 25, 26 and 27 May a series of activities for the participants and their families. The main objective of the festival is accommodate the triathletes' companions so that they can participate and enjoy with the different acts of the long weekend.

"The Festival" will start on Friday, May 25 in the afternoon with the opening of the EXPO And zumba masterclass in charge of the instructors of the Tennis Club Salou H20.

The 26 Saturday of May at 8h will be the turn of the SAILFISH OPEN WATER, a new test that is sponsored by the great Marcel Zamora, five times champion of the IronMan in Nice (France), and where he will swim a circuit of 1,9km by the beach of Salou, known as the beach of Europe.

At 10h, the CHALLENGE BREAKFAST RUN, a charity race of 4km suitable for all audiences, both for the participants in the Sunday triathlon and for the companions or people of the territory. An hour later there will be a race for the little ones, the KIDS RUN. On the 12h, breafing will be carried out in English and Spanish, and then the PASTA PARTY. To finish the day on Saturday, at the 18h there will be a race of 4,5km exclusively for women, the CHALLENGE WOMAN.

On Sunday 27 of May comes the main course and the main event of the CHALLENGE SALOU. The 7h will be shot at the start of the distance HALF (1.900m of swimming + 90km of cycling + 21km of running on foot) in a renewed circuit of three laps faster and closer to the spectator. 30 minutes later it will be the turn of the SHORT distance (1.900m of swimming + 60km in cycling + 11km of running race), which returns by popular request after two years without being celebrated. Finally, at the 7.35h, the AQUATLÓN will start (1.900m of swimming + 11km of running on foot).

First confirmed Pros

CHALLENGE SALOU confirms the first PRO in line of exit for the edition of this year. The winner of 2018, Sara Loehr, the Belgian Sofie Goos y María Pujol On the male side, Emilio Aguayo, the second of 2017, Pablo Dapena, who will face his fourth Challenge test, and the 2016 winner, Iñaki Baldellou.
