Cidade Lugo Fluvial and Diablillos Rivas Mar de Pulpí, Spanish champions of Duathlon by Clubs in Boiro

Almost 500 athletes participated in the First and Second Division competitions of the Spanish Duathlon Championship for Clubs held in Boiro, Galicia

Still the Third Division test, which will be played on the morning of Sunday 25 before the Spanish Duathlon Championship by Mixed Relay.

The two competitions of the Spanish Triathlon Federation this weekend started in a day marked by the wind and the threat of rain, although finally there was no great rainfall. He Cidade Lugo Fluvial, in the female category, and Imps from Rivas Mar de Pulpí First Division titles were awarded. Fernando Alarza, from the Tri-Penta Terras de Lugo, did not give options to the rest of the competitions and was awarded the first individual position followed by Félix Duchamp, from the 1994 Prat Triathlon, and Javier Martín, from the Marlins Triathlon Madrid. The victory in the sum of points of the individual performances gave the title of champions of Spain 2018 to Diablillos Rivas Mar de Pulpí, with second place for the Montilla Córdoba Triathlon, and third for the Triathlon Prat 1994.

The sisters Brea Abreu, Joselyn Daniely and Edymar, of the Tri-Penta Terras de Lugo were the main protagonists of the First female race, with an absolute recital from the start to the finish line. First and second, the third individual place went to Sofía Pryyma, from the Pina TriToledo Bicycles Fundación Azierta. The sum of points of the ten components as maximum of each team gave the final triumph in the Spanish Championship to the Cidade Lugo Fluvial, ahead of the Triathlon Clavería Móstoles and Diablillos Rivas Mar de Pulpí. Carla Guisande, first-year cadet, won the Iberdrola Trophy to mark the best partial race on foot in the third segment.

Women's podium in Boiro

In the Second Division, the first positions were for the Náutico de Narón, in the female category, and the Clavería Móstoles Triathlon. The women's podium in Second Division was completed by the Saltoki Trikideak and the Arcade Inforhouse Santiago; and the masculine the AD Ecosport Alcobendas, and the Casman Triathlon Albacete.

In the awards ceremony they participated together José Hidalgo, President of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, and Oscar Suris, President of the Galician Federation of Triathlon; the Mayor of Boiro, Juan José Dieste; Marta Míguez, Secretary General of Sports of the Xunta de Galicia; and Manuel Romero, Councilor for Sports of the Boiro City Council.

The second and final day of competitions in Boiro will start on Sunday at the 9: 30 h with the Third Division Women's race, which will be followed by the men's 11 h putting the closure to the Championship of Duathlon Spain by Clubs. The 13 h will be the start of the Spanish Duathlon Championship by Mixed Relay, first edition in Spain with this format, which will be Olympic in Tokyo 2020. The final awards ceremony will be to the 15 h.
