A new type of LD Triathlon Competition based on the Golf Ryder Cup is born

Teams from the USA, Europe and the rest of the world will compete against each other in a test created by the founders of the Hawaii Ironman

Collins Cup Triathlon

 

This new competition of 12 teams formed by 6 men and 6 professional women of the long distance, will compete against each other in 12 individual races.

The distance to travel will be 3 km swimming, cycling and 120 km 25 km race walk.

Each race will start with 10 minutes difference from the next and the points of each participant will be added to decide the winning team.

8 triathletes from each team will be selected by the Professional Triathletes Ranking Organization and other participants will be chosen by the team captains.

Regulation

This test has been called the Collins Cup in honor of John and Judy Collins who founded the Hawaii Ironman  in 1978.

The first edition of the Collins Cup will be held in June of 2018.
