5 tests will form the new Spanish Cup of Medium Distance Triathlon

Next season 2016 will have as a special attraction the recovery of the Spanish Cup of Middle Distance Triathlon.

The circuit has the backing of the Spanish Triathlon Federation (FETRI) and will consist of five races spread over four venues used to receiving high-level events: Elche, Pamplona, ​​Valencia and Ibiza.

The aspirants to the official title will accumulate points according to their participation and classification in each of the tests that make up the circuit. In this sense and in the face of the final classification, they will score the three best records obtained by each triathlete.

The first of the appointments will be in the Alicante town of Elche the 17 of April, with the celebration of the twelfth edition of the Triathlon of Elche - Arenales 113. The organization of A300W will be responsible for opening the Spanish Cup with a test that enjoys an excellent reputation among the triathletes who come every year from different corners of the country to play one of the most unique competitions on the national scene. The circuits, with a foot race marked by dunes and stairs, will not go unnoticed.

The championship will make the second stop the 14 of May, with Pamplona becoming the host of the second edition of the Half Triathlon Pamplona - Iruña. Thus, the capital of Navarra will again host an attractive test that combines spectacular places and demanding routes. All this enlivened by the organization of the local club, Trikideak and the unconditional support of the inhabitants of the city.

Subsequently, the Spanish Cup will be moved to the city of Valencia to celebrate the second edition of the Valencia 113 triathlon. The capital of the Turia is thirsty for triathlon and the June 12 the Malvarrosa Beach will be the epicenter of the competition. A300W will be responsible again to welcome the aspirants to the Cup title, in addition to hosting one more year the Spanish Middle Distance Championship.

The fourth and fifth races will be played in Ibiza on October 23. In this idyllic enclave, participants will have the possibility to compete in two different distances. As a novelty for 2016 will have a half distance, and the already known Ibiza LD, which will again host the Spanish Championship in its long distance format. Both tests will be punctuated in the general classification of this Spanish Cup of Medium Distance Triathlon.

In this way it is expected to offer the athletes an attractive and competitive format through a joint work of the Spanish Triathlon Federation and the different local organizers.

We remind that the inscriptions are already open for the first two venues of this Copa de España de Media Distancia: Triathlon of Elche - Arenales 113 and Half Triathlon Pamplona - Iruña.
