Joao Pereira and Laura Lindemann get the European title

 Today a new edition of Triathlon European Championship in distance Sprint in the German city of Düsseldorft with the presence of five Spanish triathletes, in the male category the “second” unit of the TRIarmada formed by Uxío Abuín, Antonio Serrat and David Castro while women have competed Anna Godoy and Inés Santiago

In the male category the Portuguese Joao Pereira got the victory with a final time of 57: 33 followed by French Le Run with 57: 36 and also from Portugal Joao Silva with 57: 37. While in the female category the victory has been for the German Laura Lindeman with a time of 1: 03: 55, followed by the switzerland Jolanda Annen with 1: 03: 58 and the Czech Vendula Frintova with the same time.

It all started at 12:00 with the women's test. The Russian Abrasimova was the first to complete the 750m swim, along with the Icelandic Hannesdottir, the Dutch Kingma and the Danish Knapp, 20” behind them, the group of favorites with the Spanish Inés Santiago and Anna Godoy. In the cycling segment there was regrouping and all the favorites got off to run together. Finally the victory was for the battlement Laura Lindemann, followed by the Swiss Jolanda Annen who won the silver medal in a tight sprint to the Czech Vendula Frintova. Anna Godoy was the best Spanish with a meritorious 8 position while Inés Santiago It was 13ª.

At 14:30 the men's test began. The Frenchman Vicent Luis was the first to cover the 750m swim, only reaching T1 with a 10” advantage over a group. The best Spaniard in swimming was Antonio Serrat in 6th place, just 10” behind Luis. For his part, Uxío Abuín left 30” with Serrat. In T1 Vicent Luis was neutralized and later in the cycling sector there was a general regrouping. Very active as always in cycling, Antonio Serrat who was always in the front at each lap, very well placed. The foot race was to be the judge of the competition. The German Lass Nygaord escaped with a strong rhythm in the first kilometers, but finally broke down The victory was for the Portuguese Joao Pereira, followed by French Pierre Le Corre and the podium closed also Portuguese Joao Silva. The best Spanish was Antonio Serrat with a meritorious 7ª position,Uxío Abuín achieved the 17ª. (On David Castro we do not have information yet, we will expand)
