Pablo Martín and Mónica Falgueras defeat the Ecotrimad 2017

On Saturday, the race was the queen of the race, with the average distance where the winners were Pablo Martín and Mónica Falgueras in the elite category.
During this weekend, the seventh edition of the contest was held in the town of Buitrago de Lozoya in Madrid. Sunday was marked by poor weather conditions, and despite having two tests scheduled for the day, the popular (not federated) with 140 participants who went to the 9 in the morning and the Sprint Distance Madrid Championship with 400 registered that went to the 12.10, only the second of the tests could be performed.
The first of the exits (Open) had to be delayed due to security reasons from the 09.00 hours to the 13.40 hours, at which time a heavy storm fell and whereinally had to be suspended in its entirety prioritizing the safety of the participants by having a totally impassable circuit to carry out a triathlon event with guarantees.

"We are also upset that the competition has not been able to take place as planned and we are aware of what happened and the damage caused to the triathletes, since we also compete in triathlon and empathize with their situation.
The only way we can see to compensate for this inconvenience is to do everything in our power so it has been decided to return the registration money and also invite the triathletes for free to participate in another triathlon race in the Circuito del Water that is made in the vicinity of the Community of Madrid (Angeles de San Rafael, Valsain, Valmayor)"
The organization has sent a statement to the participants of the open test, apologizing and informing them that the registration fee will be returned to them and they will invite one of the remaining 3 tests of the triathlon water circuit free of charge: Los Angeles de San rafael, 25 of June, Valsain, 2 of Julio and Valmayor 30 of Julio.
Ecotrimad thus fulfills its seventh edition, with a total 1.450 participants among the different tests, some data that confirm the boom that our sport is having nationwide.
