Ivan Álvarez and Brooke Brown great winners of the Vitoria Triathlon

Since the early hours of the morning the streets of the city of Vitoria have been a hotbed of people, warmth and passion for Triathlon. The Triathlon has once again demonstrated that it is the most important sporting event in the city, and one of the most important in Europe.

 

Ivan Álvarez has taken the first place of this tenth edition of Triathlon Vitoria-Gasteiz, with a time of 08: 34: 19. Alejandro Santamaría has been the second, with a time of 08: 54: 18, repeating the same position as last year, and initiating his passion for this test. The Catalan José Luis Cano (08: 58: 02) has completed the podium.

In the female category the Canadian Brooke Brown, triple winner of Triathlon Vitoria-Gasteiz and already lifetime ambassador, has made the txapela of Full with a time of 09: 38: 43. The German Julia Mai, which has been released in this edition, has achieved the second position with a time of 09: 43: 41. And the British Yvette Grice He has completed the podium (09: 58: 34).

The tenth edition of Triathlon Vitoria-Gasteiz has again offered some spectacular numbers, with about 2.300 participants, 22 represented countries and a city dumped with its biggest sporting event. Along with the large audience, the suffocating heat throughout the day has marked the achievement of it.

Great lesson in organization and animation

Beyond the sporting result, the triathlon festival has been imposed in an unforgettable edition. Vitoria-Gasteiz and all the historical territory of Álava have once again given a lesson in terms of organization and animation in the tenth edition of the International Triathlon. From the early hours of the morning the streets of the Gasteiz capital have been a hotbed of people, warmth and passion for Triathlon. Once the fog has dissipated and with 45 minutes of delay over the scheduled time, the official start of the Triathlon of Vitoria-Gasteiz has taken place in the Ullibarri Gamboa reservoir.

 

Miguel Ángel Fidalgo winner of the Half distance

In distance Half Miguel Angel Fidalgo he was the winner of the test, with an impressive time of 03:57:56. Fidalgo has been the most regular in the three sectors, very well in the water, riding at high speed in the bicycle sector and going up in the half marathon to take first place. As the Spaniard has recognized at the finish line: “The strong rhythm imposed by Pablo Dapena It has forced me to empty myself ”.

After the Galician have arrived (Pontevedra) Pablo Dapena Second with a time of 3: 59: 40. And the third place was obtained by the tolosarra Aimar Agirresarobe with a time of 4: 06: 39.

Female category

In the female category the emotion has remained until the end. It seemed that the San Sebastian resident in Gasteiz Aintzane Argaiz would win at the goal of the Plaza de España but has been the Swiss Céline Schaerer the first to pass the goal with a time of 4: 28: 23. The second place was for Aintzane Argaiz (4: 29: 43) and the third one for the Australian Sarah Lester (4: 37: 12).
