Four Paralympic athletes in 1500 were faster than Olympic gold.

The winner the Algerian Abdellatif Baka stopped the clock in 4: 48.29 achieving the gold medal and pulverizing the world record, the silver was for the Ethiopian Tamiru Demisse with a time of 3: 48.49 while the bronze was achieved by the Kenyan Henry Kirma with 3: 49.59. In addition the fourth athlete in goal, Algerian as the Paralympic champion, Fouad Baka stopped the clock in 3: 49.59.

The four Africans achieved their personal best and shows the great level of these elite athletes is that with their brands any of the four would have been Olympic champion, since 20 days before, in the Olympic final the American Matthew Centrowitz Jr managed the gold with a time of 3: 50.00
