Four Spaniards in the debut of the paratriathlon in the JJ.PP. 2016 River

Next September, the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro will see the premiere of paratriathlon in the official competition program. A dream debut that will feature the participation of four Spanish athletes.

 

Once the classification period has ended and after the allocation of seats by the bipartite commission, Spain will be represented by a total of four paratriathletes in Rio 2016. Thus, in the female categories we will have Rakel Mateo in PT2 and Susana Rodríguez along with his guide Mabel Gallardo in PT5. Likewise, Lionel Morales will contest the male PT2 event and Jairo Ruiz will compete in PT4. 

Throughout this time, the Spaniards have achieved formidable performances, with numerous international podiums, fighting test to get the ticket for Brazil. A constant progression that culminates in obtaining four seats for the Spanish delegation in Rio.

The Spanish paratriathlon team that will participate in the 10 and 11 competitions in September in Rio de Janeiro will be accompanied by Ángel Aguado, expedition chief of the Technical Direction area, and Joaquín Carrasco, who will perform support functions for the Technical Directorate.

A historic event that will open the curtain to an exciting discipline in the undoubtedly most important sporting event on an international level. The dream of Rio awaits you!
