David Castro eighth in the Calgliari World Cup

Today the Triathlon World Cup was held in the Italian town of Cagliari, this time on sprint distance, where Spain had the representation of 8 triathletes.

In the women Camila Alonso, Carmen Gomez, Inés Santiago y Anna Godoy they were our strengths while in category they were David Castro, Antonio Serrat, Uxío Abuín and Genis Grau.

The women's event that started at 10: 30 in the morning, the winner was Jolanda Annen with a time of 1: 02: 04 followed by the North American Kristen Kasper (1: 02: 28) and by the Canadian Joanna Brown (1: 02: 29) occupying the third final position. As for the Spanish Inés Santiago It has been 19º, Anna Godoy 20ª and Carmen Gómez 36 ª. Camila Alonso She suffered a fall on the bike that forced her to withdraw from the race.

As for the men's event, victory has been for the Swiss Adrien Briffod in a time of 54: 49 followed by the South African Henri Schoeman (54: 52) and by French Anthonty Pujades (54: 58) third position. The Spanish David Castro (55: 37), has finished in a great eighth final position. As for the rest of Spanish Antonio Serrat it was 15º, Uxio Abuin 40º and Genis Grau 46o.
