Debut by Mireia Belmonte, Miguel Induráin and Abel Antón in triathlon

Around 1.100 participants enjoyed a competition in which Samer Ali Guardia and Ana Ruz won the Olympic.

 

This Saturday, 10 in September, Seville hosted the sixth meeting of the largest popular triathlon circuit in Europe. The classic Triathlon Port of Seville it was disputed in afternoon session in the Cartuja and had the participation of 1.100 athletes. Among them, a very special relay team. For its part, Miguel Indurain he said feel "very excited to participate in the Santander Triathlon Series Sevilla, because this is how we promote the sport. It is with popular sport that you have the option to practice it and that means taking care of yourself, which is very important".

Abel Antón He returned to Seville, which he considers "his second home". In addition, he added that "this time, I have done next to two great athletes and take charge of the race on foot has been easy with Mireia Belmonte getting 3 minutes of advantage in swimming, like Miguel Induráin."

From football to triathlon

Seville was also the city chosen for the debut of three former footballers. Albert Luque (swimming), Joan Capdevila (cycling) and Francisco Pavón (running race), who formed a relay team in the Andalusian event.

Samer Ali Guard and Ana Ruz win at the Olympic

In a day marked by the good atmosphere, Samer Ali Guard added a new victory in Olympic distance. With 1: 54: 40, his was the best time, ahead of Daniel Seco (1: 57: 30) and David Callejón (2: 01: 13).

In the female category, triumph of Ana Ruz (2: 10 37). Second position for Rocío Molas (2: 11: 37) and third for Ana Belén Maruny (2: 18: 12).

In the Sprint, victory of Adolfo Jiménez, in a time of 1: 04: 20, and of Gloria Martínez, 1: 15: 47.
