Delioma González wins in the African Cup of Larache

Canary triathlete Delioma González won her first ITU triumph by winning in Larache thanks to the best partial on foot.

Yesterday afternoon a new edition of the African Cup of Larache, where the Canary Islands Delioma González took the victory with a 1 time: 09: 49, followed by Greta Santosi with 1: 11: 07 and of Lilinana Alexandre with 1: 11: 19.

The competition began with the 750 m of swimming where María Ortega gave time to a group of 7 triathletes with all the favorites, including Melina Alonso y Delimoa González that closed the group. In the 20km of cycling Melina Alonso attacked taking with her the Romanian Antoanela Manac and both begin to open an important gap that made presage that among them was going to be the victory, but a bad signaling made them give one more lap on the bike and thus lose all options.

After this incident, Delioma González and Greta Santosi were the first to start running, followed by Liliana Alexandre, Catalia Salazar and Maria Ortega two minutes after them. Finally Delioma wins with authority with the best partial on foot and takes the win with 1:09:49. At almost 1'30” Greda Santosi arrives and 12” later Liliana Alexandre does. María Ortega finished fourth and Melina Alonso seventh.

In the male category the best Spaniards were Aleix Domenech seventh and Urko Herran tenth.
