The UCJC will study in Ecotrimad the effect of caffeine in triathletes

The Physiology Laboratory of the exercise of the University Camilo Jose Cela will study the effect of the caffeine intake on the physical performance of the participants in ECOTRIMAD

ECOTRIMAD in collaboration with the Physiology Laboratory of the exercise of the Camilo José Cela University, for another year he will carry out research to advance scientific knowledge about the physiological demands of triathlon. In previous years, research was conducted on the effect of the intake of Sales in triathlon performance and on the usefulness of compression socks to prevent muscle damage.

This year the study carried out by the UCJC will analyze the effect of caffeine intake on physical performance at ECOTRIMAD. In addition, this possible effect will be related to the individual genetics of each triathlete.

Those ECOTRIMAD participants interested in participating in the study may do so voluntarily through the contact information provided on their website: www.ecotrimad.com.

The study will take into account the training habits of the participating triathletes and their results in triathlons of different distances. Aside from general information on the effects of caffeine on physical performance, Each participant in the study will receive a detailed report to better prepare their training and strategies nutritional with information regarding: Dehydration achieved in the test, blood electrolyte concentration, hemoglobin and hematocrit concentration, muscle damage measured through creatine kinase and blood glucose concentration.
