The Swiss Emma Bilham and the Belgian Michael Van Cleven, winners of the International Triathlon of Portocolom

Portocolom has experienced a spectacular morning of triathlon full of emotion.

 

The Switzerland Emma Bilham and the Belgian Michael Van Cleven, for the second year in a row, they have been the winners of the 111 distance Portocolom Triathlon 2016.

The Mallorcan Lucas Mola, brother of the champion Mario Mola, and the British Emma Pallant they have imposed themselves with great solvency in the short distance (55.5). Almost 1.000 triathletes have competed this morning in one of the first big dates of the European calendar.

The nineteenth edition of the Portocolom Triathlon, one of the first tests of the European calendar and one of the most valued by the Balearic triathletes in recent years, has brought a very exciting day in sports with spring weather conditions and a high level in the merely competitive, with almost 1.000 participants between the two distances: 111 (1 km of swimming, 100 km of cycling and 10 km of foot race) and 55.5 (500 m of swimming, 50 km of cycling and 5 km of foot race ).

In the long test, the Belgian Michael Van Cleven has won his second consecutive victory with rotundity in 3h41: 56 after a spectacular comeback in the second round of the cyclist segment, and after leaving fifth of swimming in the facilities of the Club Nautic de Portocolom The Swedish Fredrik Bäckson has been the big surprise and has led another impressive comeback (he has signed the fastest foot race of all the participants), and has been able to reach the Danish Henrik Hyldelund, who was finally second. Mallorcan Miguel Angel Fidalgo was the first Spaniard in goal, fifth overall. 

In the women's category the Swiss Emma Bilham won the favorite, the German Diana Riesler, although both made a very even times during the cycling sector, with the hard double ascent to Sant Salvador. Bilham crossed the finish line at 4h08: 13, seven minutes ahead of the German triathlete based in Felanitx. Third classified was the Belgian Stefanie Adam.

The Triathlon of Portocolom 55.5 was very exciting in the men's category, with an unquestionable victory for the Balearic Lucas Mola, brother of ITU test champion Mario Mola, who made his debut in undrafted races. Second classified was the German Thomas Kaiser, and Albert Gelabert was terecero. In the women's category, the British Emma Pallant overwhelmed her rivals with an advantage of more than 10 minutes in goal. The Balearic Francisca de Villalonga was second, and Caitlin Bradley third.
