Epic victory of Javier Gómez Noya in Yokohama

Javier Gómez Noya with this victory remains as world leader with many options to get his fifth world title.

 

 

In the early hours of Saturday, the fifth round of the triathlon World Series in the city of Yokohama (Japan) where we have seen a spectacular race of Javier Gómez Noya imposing itself in a spectacular sprint to Alistair Brownlee.

Mario Mola  I finish in third position, Fernando Alarza eighth and Vicente Hernández in the 22ª position.

From the beginning Javier Gómez Noya came out very strong being always in the lead of the swimming, from the second round a group was formed where Noya and Alistair Brownlee came out in the first positions in the lead, which allowed them to leave with 20 seconds of advantage on the bike.

 

In the transition the British Alistair Brownlee committed an infraction taking the bike without having the case put, but that finally did not penalize him during the race.

We were able to see an exciting cycling sector where a group of 7 triathletes was formed in the first round with Noya and Brownlee who managed to get 20 seconds ahead of a second group with Fernando Alarza, Mario Mola and Vicente Hernández.

The highly organized persecuting group reached the lead in the second round, regrouping in a group of 22 units with the top favorites and all the Spaniards in the group. On the fourth lap, the race squad was grouped again, where the attacks began.

The Belgian Marten Van Riel made a strong attack standing with a maximum advantage of 26 seconds, which was maintained until the end, although a few meters from the T2 suffered a fall, entering all together to the T2.

Javier Gómez Noya was the first to leave T2, where a group was formed in the lead with Noya, Alistair Brownlee, Mario Mola, Riederer and Vicente Hernández. From the first kilometer a great rhythm was printed, leaving this group alone.

 

 

Little by little and due to the rhythm, the Swiss Riederer and Vicente Hernández dropped out of the group, leaving the three heads free to dispute the victory. They all went together until, in the absence of 1 km, Javier Gómez Noya made a strong attack that served to take down his partner Mario Mola. From there the attacks were interspersed until they reached the finish line in an epic battle where he finally prevailed Javier Gómez Noya to the sprint with a final time of 1: 47: 00 followed by Alistair Brownlee to 2 seconds and by  Mario Mola which got the third place to 20 seconds

Fernando Alarza I make a spectacular comeback finished the test in eighth position, while the other Spanish representative, Vicente Hernández finished the test in the 22ª final position.
