From the first meters of the swim (1.900m) in the "Lake of Matemale", Erik was placed among the first classified and finally came out of the water to 10 '' of the first. He made a rapid transition to the cyclist segment and managed to get a leader.
The 90 km with more than 2.000m of positive unevenness helped the Muntanyola to extend his advantage to 3 minutes. In the final section of the race on foot (23 km) he dosed the distance to win at the end with a time of 5:04:58, with more than 6 minutes compared to the second classified.
