José Estrangeiro and José Almagro triumph in the first edition of Pure Triathlon 226 Marina d'Or

The Portuguese achieved the victory after an epic pulse with the Madrid-born Ivan Álvarez who decides in the last kilometers of the marathon.

 

Pure Triathlon he promised strong emotions from birth. And the test met. The first edition of the Pure and Medium Long Distance triathlon was a sports and social show at the Marina d'Or facilities. Two illustrious Iberian triathletes, the Portuguese José Estrangeiro And the madrileño José Almagro, were the absolute winners in long distance and half, respectively, after some tests of very high competitive level.

The Czech Peter Bajai, of the Tricanet of Berenguer, Ramón Ejeda, Fernando Santander and the Portuguese José Manuel Estrangeiro, who finally was the first to leave the T-1, maintained a power struggle to be able in the aquatic sector. The dispute between the favorites remained in the cycling sector, where the Portuguese continued to command the test followed by Ejeda and Lao. It was in the marathon where the great Iván Álvarez, from the Trisport Sierra de Madrid, appeared on the scene, that he consummated a prodigious comeback and managed to hunt down the Portuguese.

Iván Álvarez came to command the test for a few kilometers, although finally Estrangeiro gave a new pull to sentence the test to enter the goal with a time of 8 hours, 52 minutes and 56 seconds. The test, like all those that limit the human resistance, had moments of maximum emotion and also anecdotes, played in this case by the four requests from participants, on the same finish line, to their girlfriends.

In the women's category, Nerea Gambra López achieved the victory in an incontestable way with a time of eleven hours and three minutes.

Hernández, from Servimasa, and from Sergi Lesheras, from Girona Costa Brava. José Almagro, of the 3Style Triathlon, made use of his experience on the bicycle to take the lead behind the cycling sector with a wide advantage over Fernando Barroso, of the Civil Academy, and Fernando Cuenllas, of CT Illice.

Almagro He was also the best in the 21,5 kilometers of the running race, where he gave no option to his pursuers. Not only did he manage to withstand the differences, but he even expanded it. In the Pure Triathlon Marina D'Or 113 women's race the victory went to Aintzane Argaizt (CD Vibic) who made the best time in the three segments and finished the competition with a total time of 5: 05: 42. In second place came Mari Carmen Ballesteros (Club Triatlo Vallirana) with a time of 5: 35: 50 and third was Laura Morales with 5: 37: 38.
