Total success in the Triwhite Alicante

 Thousands of spectators followed the competitions from the Postiguet beach, in which more than 700 triathletes participated.

 

TriWhite Cup 2016, the most important and popular triathlon circuit in the Mediterranean with venues in three autonomous regions (Comunidad Valenciana, Región de Murcia and Andalucía) has surpassed its equator of the season after celebrating one of its star events in Alicante. Postiguet beach, the origin of the circuit, has experienced a spectacular day of triathlon that has become a social and sporting event for the city, since the more than 700 triathletes that have participated in any of the three events has been together the presence of thousands of spectators and tourists who have followed the competitions from different points of the beach and the promenade.

The TriWhite continues to grow exponentially in number of participants each year and the Alicante test has been a new example. Clubs from all over Spain have been represented, as well as triathletes from various countries in Europe and America, in a competition that perfectly mixes tourism with sport. The weather, the sports environment and the environment in which the competitions have taken place, a circuit on the edge of the emblematic beach of El Postiguet, have been the perfect condiments for tests full of emotion.

In the Olympic distance, the category reigns, the victory has been for the Avila David Sánchez, of the Nfoque Race Team of Ávila. Sánchez took advantage of his vacation period to spend a few days in Alicante and compete in the TriWhite, where he has demonstrated an excellent competitive level. The Spanish has gone from less to more in the test, which has only been able to sentence in the running sector. Fernando Martínez and Domingo Muñoz, triathletes of the SYS Laboratories of Valencia, have endured the pace in cycling, but have ended up yielding to the finish line.

Sánchez crossed the finish line with a 1 time: 58: 27, followed by Martínez to 47 seconds and Muñoz to something more than a minute. Carlos Ferrando, triathlete of the University of Alicante winner of two events of the circuit this year, was fourth, while the fifth place went to Mateo Pesquer, a legend of the triathlon and winner of last season's edition.

In women there was no room for surprise and Ana Belén Maruny, of the Alicante Arena, returned to make an exhibition, adding his third victory this season. Maruny, as usual, dominated from start to finish. Already in the swimming sector marked some differences that was consolidating in cycling and the race on foot. The Alicante entered the goal with a time of 2: 26: 17, followed by almost five minutes by Elia Fuentes, second, and Amanda Fuentes, Indalo de Almeria, eight minutes. The winner announced after crossing the finish line that she will look for the highest number of victories in the circuit and, in addition, the victory in a general that practically already has in hand.

In the Sprint category, the test that had a greater number of participants, the victory was for the Chilean international Ramón Ignacio Bustos. The South American, who faced the test in preparation for the next dub-23 World Cup to be held in Mexico, performed at a high level and was always in the lead, although closely followed by Martin Millo, Montcada, and Marc Cuevas Hofman, of SYS Laboratories. The Chilean managed to give the final pull in the race on foot to cross the finish line alone with a time of 00: 59: 23. A second 52 Cuevas, winner of the last two tests of the circuit, and in third place his teammate Emilio Urrea, also from SYS Laboratories.

In women, the triumph was for the Madrilenian Alba of Fruits, of the Diablillos de Rivas, who traveled to Alicante to spend a few days on vacation and, incidentally, play sports. De Frutos was far superior to his rivals from the start and barely gave the rest of the contestants a chance to fight for the top spot. He crossed the finish line with an 01 brand: 17: 19, followed by Alejandra Rufete, of Adesavi San Vicente, a more than four minutes. Triathlete Amalia López Heras, also from Adesavi, completed the podium.

In the Super Sprint distance, ideal test for beginners or future triathlon promises, Luis Santos, from Adesavi San Vicente, achieved a new victory, the fourth of the season after those achieved in Benidorm, Pilar de la Horadada and Torrevieja. Santos, who used a time of 36:13, is already the virtual winner of the TriWhite in his category. The non-federated triathlete Jesús Ortín, more than a minute and a half away, and José Ramón Vives, from A300W Elche, escorted him to the positions of honor. In women, Paula Lizón, very young triathlete from the inexhaustible quarry of Arena Alicante, was the winner with a record of 42: 52, followed by Sara Navarro, club mate, at 53 seconds, and Shadia of Fruits, of the Triathlon Wolves, more than a minute and medium.

At the conclusion of the tests, representatives of the organization and the firms that collaborate with the TriWhite Cup have delivered to the first classified of each of the categories of medals and trophies. Alicante has been the fourth stage of an exciting circuit that leaves the Valencian Community for this season to travel in its last two dates to Andalusia and Murcia.
