Felipe Gutiérrez's siesta time: "Now we are all triathlon"

Felipe appears in the team of this new candidacy for the presidency of the Fetri

 

A week ago it was published by means of a news agency that a candidacy was born to the Spanish Triathlon Federation, rather to the elections that this year have to be called and that we can imagine that it will be on the December 3.

Many times we complain and never take the step of introducing ourselves to what we would like to change. We always think that others will do it and if no one does it then to stand and complain.

We have taken the step, we have created a working group that, day after day, is joined by more people with the same intentions as we who start with the initial idea.

Many of you have asked me if I was the candidate and I always told you that I was a mere collaborator of the candidacy that evidently today has been discovered that I am not the aspiring President. I just want to help, help on the other hand that I offered in the day to the Fetri, after leaving, and it never materialized, only with the typical phrase of "we have a coffee and we talk". As there was no coffee or talk because the candidate for Fetri made more concrete and there I am with six months ahead working to fight for the presidency of the Fetri and support in everything I can.

The candidate is Jesus Flores, businessman of the publishing world, and known for being the editor of the Finisher Triathlon Magazine and that was more than 15 years in the market. He continues in our day to day our sport and is a very interesting manager to occupy this federative position.

Back but working side by side for a few months and preparing a project three vice-presidents among which I am.

I'll start with Margarita Ávila. She was a triathlete and is currently a triathlon coach and open water swimmer in which she also trains. She has a degree in Physical Activity Sciences and Law. With a very clear vision of his vice-presidency, young and eager to contribute his bit. Its main mission within the vice-presidency is that of Activities and Projects and it will have, among other points, the Age Groups, the Coaches School, Technification ...

Another vice president is Jesús Molina, triathlete "more or less" active, his experience in this sport already comes from afar. His main mission is to be Economic Vice President. There is no need to review and control the few incomes that are available and the many expenses that currently arise in the FETRI. We hope to improve a lot with your supervision this important section. You have work !!!

And then there is me. I want to contribute some of my 28 years in the world of triathlon, I hope so because I like to get involved. My main area will be the Technical Direction, the Direction of Competitions which I directed for many years, the Paratriathlon and above all of the sportsman with sports aspirations and Judges and Officers.

Obviously we have already contacted those people that we believe may be the ideal ones to occupy these positions professionally since we vice-presidents only coordinate these professionals.

There is a lot of work ahead, many points to touch and above all to have the confidence of the Assembly to give their vote to our project that will undoubtedly present the candidate for the next elections. Jesus Flores is aware of how much we have to work on this for six months and we could have hidden our candidacy to introduce ourselves at the last moment, but we want to know us, we want to talk with the different strata of triathlon and if the slogan used to be WE ARE TRIATHLON we want that with the help of all is NOW WE ARE ALL TRIATHLON.

Our most important point and value is the clarity in all the actions we carry out, that will also make a difference. The law of transparency we will take it to the letter.

Many of you will ask me if I could give the typical nod on Wednesday afternoons, I just have to say that with this project it is practically impossible to sleep that little nap.
